Monday, 23rd May 2011

Monday, Monday - here we are. Had orientation this morning, only one in class this week. Rather odd day for a Monday, everyone seemed a little off. Major storm blew through, lots of rain. Gave a PAR test, got three people to catch up on their over due courses. More PAR tests tomorrow. Sarah came in at 2:30 to do her courses and was a bit late she had problems with her tire.

Went outside to look at it with her and big chunk of rubber missing, lucky she didn't have a blow out, told her it would need to be changed before she could go anywhere. Made sure she had a good spare. When we were on our way back into the building we actually watched a man hit one of our managers cars in the parking lot. He turned into the space and his left front bumper tapped the rear right, no damage but most people would back up and correct to pull into the parking space but ohhhh no, this guy seriously stopped for a sec, you could see it on his face and then proceeded to pull into the space scraping the side of the rear bumper and tire. He saw Sarah and I as he pulled in. We went on inside the store and looked back, I watched him get out and check his bumper, no real damage and come into the store heading straight to the restrooms. Never once looking to see if he did any kind of damage to Fred's vehicle. I immediately went to Fred and told him what had happened. Needless to say he was a bit upset. He found Mani and Mani went to speak to the man, who at first denied it. Then said it was just a scape. He then wanted to talk to Fred, telling him it wasn't any big deal it could be buffed out etc. Fred told him yeah but I will still have to pay someone to buff it out. The man then said "What do you want from me?" getting really nasty. Pretty much being nasty the whole time. Fred looked at him and said "your insurance". Mani said when Fred walked away the man looked at him and said he's just being a big A--hole.

Seriously, seriouly this man didn't see he had done anything wrong at all and if we hadn't seen him he would have come in bought his candy and left. Totally unreal.

Got home around 4, chilled out for a bit. Chatted with Steph for awhile - she found out today that the person she's supposed to room with in Cancun in July for the wedding has now backed out as well(apparently all of this girls brides maids have all backed out except Steph). She wanted to know if I wanted to go. LOL, could love to but it would be $1000 for me to go, $300 for the airfare and the rest for the 4 nights at the hotel. It's $320 a night for double occupancy - it's an all inclusive resort hotel. This is the list of what they include:

The Moon Palace is an all-inclusive resort. All of their rates include the following all-inclusive package:

  • Hotel taxes and gratuities
  • All meals and snacks
  • Unlimited premium alcoholic beverages
  • Unlimited natural juices and soft drinks
  • Access to all Palace Resorts
  • 24-hour room service
  • Fitness center
  • Wireless Internet access
  • Daily activities program and entertainment
  • Theme parties and nightly entertainment
  • Non-motorized water sports
  • Scuba diving demonstration
  • Towel service and beach and pool chairs
  • Scheduled transportation to Sun Palace, Cancun Palace and Cancun shopping centers
  • Free Phone Calls to the Continental US and Canada
So you can see I'd love to go with but we have a big trip planned in September. Of course I really feel sorry for Amanda - the bride - she's an orphan, was raised by an aunt who doesn't really care for her. She's marrying a really nice guy but his family is paying for the wedding, she did want it in a smaller resort, less expensive and they pretty much took over, changing all the plans and of course she doesn't feel she can speak up for what she really wants and now they say that because of the expense of paying for most the family to fly down because they didn't buy their tickets earlier like Steph did, she can't have a reception. Of course Amanda(Steph's twin) would like to go but she doesn't have a passport or a job cause she's going to school full time. So only if her and Jason(the boyfriend)get his settlement from the car accident(broke his neck - lots of medical trouble - totaled Amanda's car)she says she might could go.

Back to my chilling at home, called Thersia Evonne to wish her a happy belated birthday and she invited me to Fuzzy's in Weatherford tonight to hear one of their musician friends who was going to be playing out on the patio. So I went, it was nice, weather was perfect, nice breeze not hot and surprisingly not humid and sticky even after all the rain we'd had earlier in the day. Thersia's hubby Scotty plays steel guitar at events with this guy - Casey Thompson, very good singer, guitar player and entertainer.

Stopped by Niki's on my way home to pick up my vacuum & carpet cleaner and got home at 9. Once again just chillin on my couch, playing my games and chattin with my man who's in Lubbock till Wednesday then on to Amarillo till Friday, he'll be home Friday some time.

So that's it for my day. Have a wonderful day tomorrow. God Bless
