Saturday, 30th of April 2011

The last day of April, tomorrow is May Day. Anyone out there remember May Day when we were growing up?

Not a lot to tell about the day, got up, watched a little tv, was hoping to go somewhere with hubby today, but NOOOOOOO, he had to go power wash his mother's fence. Something about something she'd seen on some diy show, she wanted the old fence that is still standing power washed, then she's gonna stain it or paint it or something. Who knows. I was on the phone getting the new satellite receiver hooked up and activated when he kissed me, thought he was showing me he'd shaved, didn't realize he was leaving. I thought he was going to do the yard work first since he said he had that to do.

Anyway, I though I could help out and mow the yard myself, so I pulled out the lawn mower(it's a riding one) and started mowing. LOL got some good sun, spent almost 4 hours out there then had enough, came in to take a cool shower and get all the dirt and grass off me and out of my hair. Of course Robert got home about 2 hours after I started and when I asked him what was next since he'd finished at his mom's he rattled off "finishing the yard, weed eating and mow the pasture". Needless to say I gave him the look. He wanted to know why and I said I wasn't tell, he could figure it out. The one and only nice day for this weekend because the weather is supposed to be colder and stormy all day tomorrow we had the opportunity to go to Scarborough Fair with friends today and NOOOOOOO, mister I have to do the yard. ARG. I'm still pissed and he's still trying to figure it out.

After my shower and I got dressed I left, went to Walmart to get a few things, gone for a little over an hour. After I got home I changed clothes, out of a sun dress and into some shorts and a top, as I was headed back to the living room some one was knocking on my door and I opened it and there was my mom in law. She'd come by to look at the new RV so we showed it off to her and visited a while.

After she left we warmed up left over burgers from Friday night had dinner and watched Tron Legacy and Dr Who. Now it's 11:20 and we're watching Underworld.

So there ya have my exciting day. Not.

I'll enjoy the storms tomorrow but really wanted to have a day out and away.
Ya'll have a nice weekend yourselves. God Bless and keep you.

Friday, 29th April 2011

What a day, what a day! My 4 trainee's were all there this morning before 9 and I got them started on the promo video then menu's so we could do the menu & plate presentation, of course we still didn't finish everything because I have one young lady who want's to question EVERY single thing I said. She was wearing me out. I kept telling them we needed to get through things because we had another group of orientee's coming in at 1. So now they have to come in on Tuesday to finish the lunch & dinner portion of the menu's class and do micros(how to ring in orders). Then I've got the 2 that didn't come in yesterday will have to come in on Wednesday to do all their computer work. Then I have to fit the two newest ones from this afternoon into next weeks schedule along with another orientation Monday night with a server, retail and host. I HATE WORKING NIGHTS. It's looking like I'll be working Monday, Tuesday and maybe Wednesday nights this next week. SUCKS.

I have a month of work to catch up on cause NO ONE KNOWS WHAT THE HECK TO DO. One of the many reasons why I really didn't want to go back to work. LOL They have dug such a whole it's gonna take me at least 3 weeks I think to catch up. Plus we need to hire another 20 people at the least.

So enough of work, lol. I left work at 2:45 and headed home to change cause Rue needed to run a casket piece to Lake Worth at 3:30 and needed someone to watch the store. Had a corsage order for a baby shower and another order for a boutonniere for formal on the 7th.

Had Rue and Glen come to the house, I actually picked Glen up. Rue drove the van out after going to the store so that Robert and Glen could get her air conditioning fixed in the van. Needed cause it is her delivery van, not good delivering flowers in a hot van. We made Glen's Man burgers for dinner, the guys fixed the van then we all watched Camelot and they left, no I sit here on the couch blogging to you all while my hubby watches baseball and the Tonight show. LOL

I may go to bed, very tired, neck really tired tonight. I might have over done it at work a bit today, when I left it was getting harder for me to talk, throat a bit swollen. Don't worry - those of you who I know will call or text and get on to me - I'm ok, just talked ALOT today, more than I have in weeks. Lot's of training requiring me to talk for a couple hours. I'll be fine.

Until tomorrow, You all have a great weekend and God Bless

Thursday, 28th April 2011

Up early, went to work, got two of the newbies onto the computer to do all their training courses, sent the 3rd home cause I was silly having them all 3 today, I only have 2 computers in my office.
While they did their computer work, I promptly got on the phone, scheduling Friday's & Monday's orientations. Called applicants for interviews. That took up a good part of my day. Left just after 2 and headed to the dry cleaners to drop off work shirts, then to Niki's to pick up the camp table to take to La Rue's. On to the house to change clothes - regroup, then on to the flower shop to help get ready for the prom party.

Can I say wow, we really had a really great turn out in my opinion, a great group of people showed up this evening. Some beautiful girls and a couple of handsome guys, they picked out what they wanted for their corsages and boutonniere's. Some good eats, a hair dresser did hair and had some ideas for the girls, make up by a Mary Kay consultant and consignment shop brought an entire rack of formal dresses and wear.

I know that they will go to school tomorrow and talk about what a wonderful time they had and I believe the mom's will also share the same with their friends, everyone had a wonderful time. I think all the girls enjoyed them selves and word of mouth will get around. Being that band banquet is the 7th and prom is the 21st for Azle, this gives everyone time and 3 weeks to get more business. Please keep it in your prayers, I know this shop can make it.

So tomorrow back to work for a few hours to finish up this group of orientees. Off for the weekend I believe, next week will hold more. UGH. LOL

Wishing you all a great weekend, God Bless

Tuesday & Wednesday the 26th & 27th of April 2011

Wow, I was beat yesterday, sorry I didn't get posted. Told La Rue that I would help her as much as I could to get ready for the Prom Party tomorrow night. So Tuesday I got to the shop around 9:30 and was there until 7:10. We got the choosing section set up, it has all the elements that can be chosen for the corsage, wrist bracelets, ribbons, leaves, bling, bling and more bling. LOL

Today, Wednesday, 7 AM came way to soon, I went back to work, had to be there for orientation. Had 4 people in class today all servers, 1 guy who's 21 and looks 12, very nice kid though, and 3 girls. Plus Peggy sit in on the class so she could see what's done for future ref, which will be on Friday. LOL She'll be doing a class at 1 on Friday. I'm only working like 1/2 days this week.

After I left Cracker Barrel at 1:45, went to Walmart, got gas, sonic got drink headed home, changed clothes and then to La Rue's to help with what ever needed doing for the Prom Party, got most of it done yesterday, at least the hardest part, thank Heaven's.

Got home just after 7, Robert was watching the Ranger game, not much at all on TV tonight, just after 9 noticed that episode 2 of The Game of Thrones was on, anyone watching? Good show, very intriguing. I'm enjoying it so far.

So back to work tomorrow for day 2 of orientation. Make some phone calls to some applicants that Mike wants to hire, line up some interviews for some applicants that Mike want's to interview. LOL. Do what I can.

Ya'll have a great rest of the week, God Bless. I'll have more to tell tomorrow because of the Prom Party, please pray for a good turn out. We have no idea how many people will show, I pray that there are alot of mom's & daughters, even guys who might be wanting to order tux's & such. Till tomorrow.

Monday, 25th of April 2011

Well the storms from last night really worked, I slept like a rock. I didn't get up till almost 11 today, much later than I ever intended. Got on the phone with Dishnet to fix a prob, after 5 phone calls got it done. LOL

As soon as I was done with my phone calls, got dressed, packed up left overs from yesterday and headed to Azle to La Rues flower shop. Did some painting, took an order for a funeral, printed up bills for overdue accounts.

Left the shop at 6:30 for home, as soon as I got home I cut Robert's hair and then we watched The O'Reilly Factor and put in a disc and watched Unstoppable, good movie.

Oh also one of the phone calls I made this morning was to work, they've hired people that need orientation this week so I will be going into work Wednesday & Thursday to work 1/2 days and do the orientation.

So that was my exciting day today. LOL not much huh?

God Bless till tomorrow.

Saturday & Sunday, 23rd & 24th of April 2011

Ok, bad me not getting Saturday's posted Saturday night, lol, I feel asleep. So here it all is.....

Saturday, got up late(again - lol) cooked myself some bacon & an omelet - yummy. As I was cooking my brunch Rue called and wanted to know if I wanted to come to the shop for a bit and then go with her to meet with a local guy about his candles for the shop. Told her I was cooking but after I ate and got dressed I could head that way.

About 12:45 I headed to Azle and picked up Rue, she'd just closed the shop and we delivered a couple of flower baskets to a couple of businesses on Main St, then went over to the this guys house who makes his own wood wicked candles, nice smells, good prices. Left there and went back to the shop so she could get her van to take to my house, cause our guys were waiting on it to work on the air conditioning.

It was close to 2 - 2:30 before we got to the house and we just hung out while the guys took the van apart. LOL, they needed a part for it so La Rue and I headed into Weatherford to Autozone who showed online and on their in store computer they had the part and guess what, NO part. So we headed down the road to O'Reilly's - no part but the O'Reilly's in White Settlement had one. You got it, we headed to WS. Picked up the part, got drinks at Sonic and headed back to my house.

When we got back it was close to 5 and Robert was grilling the chicken teriyaki that he'd been marinating all day, we ate dinner and afterward Glen and Robert went out to see if they could get the part on and well, it was the wrong part. Dad gummit. So still no air in the van, not good for a floral delivery van. She'll get the correct part some time this week and they'll get it fixed. LOL

Since it didn't work we settled in to watch a movie, The Little Fockers, SOOOOO funny. Robert made homemade popcorn, real butter. NOT microwaved or air popped. The good stuff. LOL After the movie, around 9 Glen & Rue left to head home and Robert and I just vegged the rest of the evening and actually got into bed at 12:30, both beat.

Didn't sleep to well, Robert got up around 5 to put the brisket in the smoker, didn't do it last night like he was going to do due to the high winds and storms. I woke up when his alarm went off - to explain - I NEVER hear his alarm, I can't think of the last time that I may have ever heard it. Got up and had to go potty(lol), climbed back in bed as he was getting dressed, my neck and shoulders were hurting, thought I could go back to sleep, I think I dozed on and off in between trying to get comfortable and the on again off again hot flashes. Finally around 6:30 I got up and went to the kitchen and took two tylenol in hopes that it would help my head/neck & shoulders. Went back to bed, tossed & turned, put my air on, dozed here & there and around 7:00 gave it up, pilled up pillows and turned on the tv to watch some shows I had recorded, sorta hoping that it would help me fall asleep. No go. Got up around 8 cause I had some cooking to do for Easter lunch with the family today.

Peeled & boiled potatoes for potato salad. Got that all made and in to the fridge. Then sliced up some new potatoes for a recipe that I had found for Herbed Potatoes, very good.

Stephanie showed up, we were still waiting on Niki & Randy and Amanda, Niki then called and said her and Randy would just meet us. We were all going down to Burleson to my sisters for Easter. Amanda finally showed up and we headed out. Got there at 2 and had a wonder lunch and visit with everyone.

Got home at 7, the girls left when we got back to the house. Robert & I got changed and settled in to watch Extreme Make over Home addition. Watched the storm out side for a while and then we watched The Killing on AMC at 9.

So there ya have it, my life for the past two days. I hope and pray that you all had a wonderful Easter where ever you spent your day or who ever you spent it with.

God Bless and keep you till tomorrow, enjoy the rain. I know I will, I love thunder and lightening and the sound of rain.

Friday, 22nd of April 2011

TGIF - like it really matters. LOL Didn't do much today, slept late till the phone rang. Robert was outside working on the trailer and his mom called to see if he could help her and our brother in law later unload stuff for the fence she needs to rebuild due to it being blown down a couple of weeks ago with the high winds.

Steph had spent the night cause she needed to leave her car here for the insurance people to come look at, she used my truck to go to Fort Worth to get her passport. She got back to the house around 11.

I wasn't doing much just hangin out. Got Steph to run me to Rue's shop to get a birthday gift for a friend of mine who invited me to her birthday party today. Her daughter had planned a tea party for her. Got what I wanted and got home to get cleaned up, running a little late. Amanda was coming to take me to the party cause Carla(birthday girl)'s brother took one of Amanda's puppies. Of course Amanda didn't have puppies her puppy had puppies, lol.

We enjoyed our selves, small group. We had tea and sandwiches, fresh fruit and cupcakes. It was very nice and enjoyable. And of course everyone loved the puppy, he's so cute and adorable.

Amanda got me back home about 7 and I've just hung out here chattin online with my friend Stewart watching tv and playing a few of my fb games. LOL

Oh, I don't remember if I posted this yesterday but I got a really nice spring bouquet of flowers from my "Cracker Barrel family" delivered to the house. It came from one of the florists here in Weatherford and then today got a phone call from another florist in Fort Worth wanting to know if I or anyone would be home because they had a delivery for me. Steph was gonna be here cause Amanda and I were going to be in Fort Worth at the party. So when we got home there sat another beautiful bouquet of flowers and this one was also from my "Cracker Barrel family". Go figure, not sure what happened there, both cards said the exact same thing, but 2 different florists. Both very nice and smell so good. So I'll enjoy them for as long as they last. Took pictures and will get all pictures of all the flowers I got during my recovery.

Everyone have a great day tomorrow, God Bless

Thursday, 21st of April 2011

Got up early, Niki came & picked me up and we headed to Arlington to see Dr. Teal.

He came in the room took off my collar and had me look up/down and side to side. Yeah me. He looked at my x-rays and said I was free of the collar, just gotta continue to take it easy until I'm more comfortable turning me head, no driving. Still no release to go back to work yet. Like I'm in a hurry, lol.

We got back home and Niki left to go get started with her new job at one of the hotels here in Weatherford.

Hung out around the house, Amanda came by for a bit and we watched Sherlock Holmes - the new one with Robert Downy Jr.

Robert came home early from work, we all just hung out for a while. Amanda left, Robert watched his news on Fox at 5. I got changed and we headed to Azle to Walmart to pick up dessert for dinner with Glen & La Rue, it was their anniversary today and they invited us over for enchilada's. We had a nice evening, nice dinner and we watched Life as we know it, what a good movie. One of the ones I would have like to see at the theater but didn't.

After the movie we headed home, got home just a bit after 11, Robert finished watching the Mav's loose, watched some news and headed to bed.

So here I sit telling you all of my incredibly exciting day, lol, and watching Bones.

Not a whole lot to tell today, it was a nice day, weather wise, very cloudy and over cast all day until about 4 then the sun came out and heated up the day from the mid 60's to the 80's. Fires still burning in Palo Pinto, thunderstorms moving through but they keep blowing more north and not really were needed. Oh well, Spring and the storms we usually get are really late this year. I'm afraid it's gonna be a HOT summer and dry, not good.

So until tomorrow, God Bless and enjoy the upcoming weekend.

Wednesday, 20th of April 2011

Middle of the week, hump day, lol. Slept late today, later than I have been. lol

When I got up I wrapped and packed up my package to go to Albuquerque to my son, daughter in love and grand daughter for Easter. Just after I finished Niki showed up and we watched a bit of TV, I was really tired today, very drowsy. Any way we headed to town just after 1 to the hospital to get the disc with the pictures from the x-rays yesterday. We got the disc, then we headed over to Blue Beacon truck wash to pick up Randy, they didn't have much business today, alot of the water trucks they usually wash on Wednesday are out west for the fires. Besides, yesterday was in the 90's today was cloudy, overcast and in the 60's. Had to wear a jacket.

After we picked up Randy we went to the post office so that I could mail the afore mentioned package. Then a quick drive through at Sonic for a Raspberry Limeage and then home.

Watched a little tv for a while, still tired. Robert got home just a bit after 4, asked what I wanted for dinner, Cheese Ravioli with sketi sauce or cold with olives, shrimp & italian dressing. I opted for the latter. Fell asleep in the recliner while he was cooking and didn't wake up till after 7. I felt drugged, but hadn't taken anything since last night. Oh well. Now it's after 1 in the morning and I'm not really tired but I'm gonna have to go to bed soon cause we're leaving in the morning at 7:30 for Arlington to see Dr. Teal.

Oh BTW, looked at the disc with the pictures of my neck, cool, I don't know if I can copy them to my computer to post later, will try. Robert said it all looked good, looked it to me, plate from the C3 to the C6, total of 8 screws in my neck, two on each vertebrae. Sorta hoping he says I can take the collar off. Keeping fingers crossed. LOL

So I'll have news for you all tomorrow on my progress.

On another note, I don't really read magazines, I have only one that I really like and will buy weekly and that is Woman's World. I like it cause it have a lot of little things in it and the best is not a lot of ads. Don't you just hate paying 2 or more $'s for a magazine and it seems like it's nothing but ads with just a few stories. My point. lol, WW is 1.79 at walmart and not alot of ads. There's always a small section called a moment for you and in the lasted issue here's what it says:

YOU ADD SUGAR & SPICE TO LIFE!
Think you're just like everyone else?
Think again!
No one else has the same mix of strength & compassion, of dreams & determination.
And the list of what makes YOU unique keeps growing.
This day, week, month, year or world just wouldn't be the same with out you!

I love this and my first thought after reading it was I need to share this on my blog.
We are each unique in our own ways. Remember this, share it, pass it on.

God love and bless each of you as we head toward celebrating Jesus's death and resurrection, for he died for ALL and paid the price for ALL. My favorite verse in the bible is John 3:16

FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON
THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHOULD NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVER LASTING LIFE.

and btw, that is the KJV version, is it REALLY so hard to read. It says it all.

For God SO, so much, so very very much
loved the world
He gave his ONLY BEGOTTEN SON - his only child, his only son - gave him to the world. Could any of us give up a child, knowing he would die?
That WHOSOEVER - anyone, everyone, all, men, women, children, black, brown or white, yellow, green, purple - ALL
BELIEVETH in him - believes in God, Christ, Jesus, our Lord Savior, Salah, Emmanuel - asking for forgiveness of our sins, asking Christ into our hearts as our Savior and redeemer. Asking for salvation.
Should not perish - spiritually die, go to hell, be forgotten.
But have EVER LASTING LIFE - live forever in Heaven with Christ

Again I ask, is it so terribly hard to read and believe?

God Bless and keep you

Tuesday, 19th of April 2011

I definately had a much busier day today. Got up around 8:30, took a shower and got ready to head up to the hospital. Niki came and picked me up. I had to get my neck x-rayed for my appointment with Dr. Teal on Thursday. After we finished up there we headed to Cracker Barrel, I got us some lunch and got a cute little dress I've had my eye on for Kalise, my grand daughter. Had to go over something on the computers back in my office for the manager.

We left CB and headed to Randy's work where we dropped him off a salad and headed on down the road to Tuesday Morning, then to Walmart and on down to Sonic for a raspberry limeade and home.

Once I got home Niki brought in the few groceries we bought and pulled out my vacuum, she started and I finished, probably shouldn't have but she needed to leave to go get her hubby from work. After I finished vacuuming I settled into the recliner and relaxed for a couple of hours till Keno. Tonight was my once a month ScrapKeno group.

Steph, Kelley & I headed to La Choza's where we played tonight. Paula was host and she doesn't cook. LOL

Had a good turn out, didn't do well at all in the first round, but managed to steal 3 gifts in the second round and got to keep them. More paper for me. LOL

Got home just a little after 10. Took a pain pill when I got home and here I am. LOL

Ya'll have a great day, God Bless

Sunday & Monday, 17th & 18th of April

Sunday was just a hang out and do nothing day, since I can't drive anywhere. LOL that's ok, it was good to just hang, my honey cooked a fab dinner last night of red beans & sausage and shrimp etouffee along with some rice. It was good and of course I did make some corn bread. It was yummy. We invited all the kids to come out and enjoy dinner also. Nice evening, watched Extreme Make Over Home Addition and then the new 2hr special of Burn Notice.

Monday - well not much more to report, same thing, hung out didn't do much, didn't go anywhere except to walk to the end of the drive way to put some mail in the mail box and then later to walk down again and get the mail. Neck felt a bit funny today, swollen on the left, felt like the skin and muscles were being stretched even up to my ear. It was odd. I go tomorrow to get my x-rays on my neck and I'll see Dr. Teal on Thursday for my post op appointment.

So there it is, not much to talk about, watching tv and playing games on facebook, oh and doing some genealogy work.

Oh I did call my son this morning to wish him a happy birthday, he's 28 today. I still say I'm not old, I'm not. It's all a frame of mind. lol

God Bless you all, have a great week.

Saturday, 16th of April 2011

What a beautiful day today was, weather was perfect. Slept late, got up and watched a movie. Robert worked this morning so had the house all to myself. He got home around 1, La Rue invited me to go to Fort Worth with her to the Art Show down at Sundance square so we headed that way, took a while to find a place to park that wasn't miles away, only about 3 blocks. Walked around saw some great art and crafts. Some very unique ideas out there. We went to one of the restaurants down town for dinner, a place called something Jack's, for the life of me I can't remember the first name. LOL. Not bad, I had Shrimp stuffed with crab mixed with ritz crackers, a baked potato and fresh steamed green beans. La Rue had crab claws in a bisque it was pretty good. This place was catty corner from PF Changs. We got home around 7:30. Nice afternoon out, a little to much walking but all is good. Took a pill as soon as we got back in the car. Been hanging out in the recliner since I got home. Finishing a movie on Starz - Brooklyn's Finest. Better than I though it would be.

Well, that was my day, not a lot to talk about. Ya'll enjoy the rest of the weekend. God Bless and keep you

Friday, April 15, 2011

Monday thru Friday, 11th to the 15th of April

What a week this has been! Monday I was home all day long with not much to do, didn't go any where, didn't see anyone. So not a lot to tell. Tuesday pretty much the same thing, Monday I fell asleep before I could post anything on the blog, Tuesday around 3:30 in the afternoon we lost our internet and didn't get it back up till yesterday.

So on Wednesday, Robert took me to my dermatology appointment, just a follow up on my rosacea. After that we headed to Haltom City to United RV to pick up our new toy. Took us almost 3 hours to get it. We took almost an hour to do a walk through with the tech, showing us were everything was and what things do and such. After that we were to meet with the manager to sign all the papers and were told he'd left to go get the title. Seriously, you've had our RV & money for 2 weeks, made us make an appointment to pick it up and finalize and these people didn't already have everything in order. ARE YOU KIDDING ME. argh, I wasn't to happy. We waited almost another hour for him to return and for them to put in the hitch that was a part of the package. We finally left around 3:15 or so for the drive home. We made it to the end of our drive way and Robert misjudged the turn into the drive and caught the fence post with the trailer. Spent the rest of the evening taking it easy after an all day outing. LOL

Thursday Niki & Randy came over to take me to La Rue's shop cause I was gonna run with her to the basket place, we headed over there around 2:10 and got back to the store around 4:15. Sarah Rue's daughter brought me home and I put on a bit of make up, changed clothes and she took me into Weatherford where I met up with Thersia Evone for our evening out in Burleson for the get together at Gina's Pizza. We had a great time and alot of laughs. I told her we could go as The Phantom of the Opera and Frankenstein and tell everyone we thought it was a masquerade party. That's because of her surgery on Monday, where they took out a huge chunk from her cheek, down to the bone, they found basel cell carcinoma, they then had to do emergency plastic surgery so she has 40 stitches in her face running from the outside of the base of the eye socket running up to the side of her nose down the crease beside her nose and the line in the face from were we smile. She placed a patch over it, which I kept telling her it really wasn't that bad, the dr did a fantastic job, she had a reverse face lift, instead of pulling it back to the ears they had to pull the skin up from the chin and throat and ear area in toward the nose. And of course me still being in my neck brace. So everyone was wonderful and inquisitive, no biggie, but we did get some great laughs. We had some great pizza and visited with classmates from 78, 79 and 80 and of course Kenny Davis who I believe was class of 84, what a youngster. LOL. After Gina's we were invited out to Lynette Webb's just to visit and chat more. Although I have to say she had quite the lay out when we got there, fruit & veggie trays, even some cookie trays and such. I was good, ate some of the fruits & veggies. Before we left Thersia and I split a brownie, the small little debbies so it was like 2 bites. lol
About an hour or so before we left we kept seeing all the lightening moving our direction and not long after we left we did get caught in some of the rain, OMG some of the drops were the size of cup saucers and got a bit of hail. As we headed NW back to Weatherford the less bad weather there was.

Then after I got home last night I was thinking about my mom who had called just as Thersia and I had gotten into Burleson, she said she was calling to check on me and that I usually call her. I didn't get it until I laid down and then I realized what the date was, the 14th, my brother John's birthday, he would have been 44 this year. Each year since his death I always call my mom and I forgot this year. Being laid up for over 2 weeks I barely know what day it is much less the date.

So this morning when I got up the first thing I did was call my mom back. She has had such a hard time each year on John's birthday and of course the date of his death it always worries me and that's why I call. Today was a wonderful day because when I apologized for forgetting she said it was alright, that it was a sign of growth for both of us because she did very well yesterday. I was very happy, so we had a nice conversation for about 15 minutes and then she needed to get back to work. Not long after that Niki showed up just cause and I told her good cause I was gonna call her to come get me I needed to run to Weatherford to pick up a prescription, go by Micheal's, go to Lowe's to get a gift card for my son for his birthday on Monday and then to the post office to mail off the cards. Of course we went to Ross's also. LOL When we got back to the house it was just after 5 and Steph had come over to make dinner for us. She made Bacon Cheese burger wraps, very good. Niki had left to go pick up Randy from work and they came back, he didn't stay long wasn't feeling to well, but Niki stayed and then Amanda and Jason came by for a visit, gave them the tour of the RV and they stayed for a while, just all of us chatting and catching up. So all in all a nice day finishing up the evening seeing all three of my daughers. Now just trying to catch you all up on the week. Hopefully no more probs with the internet.

Ohhhh, let me vent on that a bit - 2 months ago they call us (we have satellite internet) to tell us they want to put in a new box, upgraded equipment. Ok so someone needs to be here all day for that, no prob. Ever since they placed it in the house we've had nothing but trouble, internet going down either at the box and having to re boot it or the tower. So Tuesday like I said it went out, the tech came out yesterday morning to check it and the box was bad, they'd already told Robert that it was going to cost 85 dollars for the service call. BS I said, why should we have to pay for them to come fix something they put in our house 2 months ago. He came out, the box was bad and needed to be replaced and that was going to cost us $199.99, again I was not a very happy camper. Told the guy I know it's not you but can you see why I am upset "you're company calls us up, tells us we need a new piece of equipment - I did not call you and ask for an upgrade or anything new - we let you put it in our house and we have nothing but problems and you tell me there is only a 30 day warranty, convenient after 2 months. Equipment we didn't ask for goes bad, there's no warranty and WE HAVE TO PAY 200 dollars plus 85 for you to come out and fix it." I am livid, he calls his boss, who wont even talk to me, tells me that if we extend our contract 2 more years they can wave the 85 dollars. I called Robert and let them talk to one another. Robert says pay the 200, extend the contract. ARGGGGGGHHHH, I'm really really really unhappy with this and don't know who to talk to because I really don't understand why we have to pay for all this crap when it wasn't us who even asked for any of the upgraded equipment.

Oh well, that's my rant for the day. LOL

I hope to get back to daily posts. Ya'll have a great weekend, God Bless you all. Thanks for the prayers and get well wishes.

Saturday & Sunday, 9th & 10th of April 2011

Ahhh the weekend, lol. What did I do? NOTHING. LOL, slept late, ate, watched tv, ate again, took a nap, ate dinner, watched more bad tv, went to bed. LOL

Pretty much my existence this entire weekend. We haven't gotten the RV yet due to waiting on parts. Robert took care of the junk he cleaned up out of the garage a few weeks ago including some extra from the cleaning he did on Saturday. He hauled it off to the county drop off spot since it was county clean up weekend. I sat in the house most the day, went out side & walked around the house once or twice, that's it.

Sunday, same thing different day. LOL except Robert didn't do anything all day either. We both just sat in the house watching bad tv, checked on the Rangers in the evening. We watched a new series on AMC called The Killing, not bad, actually pretty good. The right amount of mystery and intrigue. I did walk down to the mail box with some out going mail, saw nice storm clouds over head and prayed really hard that the storm would hit us and not just go around us as the past few storms have done. God listened to my prayers cause it hit us started really hard just before 10 and it's now 2 AM and is still going. Yeah. We need it so very much.

So tomorrow Robert has a job to go to. LOL Just in case ya'll dont know he works for the government, treasury department. So with the budget being signed he has a job to go to tomorrow, yeah. Don't get me started on that whole situation. A certain person taking credit for the whole thing yet before hand was the biggest opponent. Tell ya what I'm liking some of those new Tea Party Freshmen.

I think I'll head to bed, till tomorrow ya'll have a great day, God Bless

Friday, 8th of April 2011

Is it Friday??? For some reason all day it's felt more like a Saturday. Of course I think that's because this was Robert's Friday off and I slept in really late this morning and it just sorta felt like a Saturday. LOL.

So I got up around 10, fixed myself some bacon, eggs & toast. After eating got on my lap top to do a few things on FB and Robert had come in from working on La Rue's delivery van he needed to go get some parts and asked if I wanted to go to the shop I said sure. So got dressed and we headed to Azle. He dropped me off at Cozy Creations and I spent the rest of the afternoon with La Rue at the shop. I played on her computer, I designed a 1/4 pg ad for the Azle Spring Show program and then enlarged it for a flyer that we can start distributing to advertise for the Prom Party.

La Rue says I'm her good luck charm, the store can be dead, no business and I come in and in no time at all people start coming in. Things are picking up, word of mouth is getting around. I know this store can make it. If you haven't been by just to check it out you really should, things change daily.

We closed up the shop around 5:15 cause we had to drive to Lake Worth to deliver a plant for a funeral. We headed back to Azle to pick up our dinner - we'd ordered chiness take out. Yum

Robert had gone and picked up Glen, so they were both at the house waiting on dinner when we arrived. Actually, Glen was watching TV and Robert was in the shower getting all the grease and dirt off. He finished the van. yeah. I thought La Rue was gonna run up to it and kiss it when we pulled into the drive way. LOL IT LIVES. Gotta understand it's her delivery van and it's been very difficult for her these past 2 weeks, but it's better, Robert fixed it all better. They'll drive it to Childress tomorrow afternoon. Her parents are celebrating their 50th on Sunday. You have to understand how excited she is the van works cause they were having to put a quart or more of oil in it each time they drove it. Now she shouldn't have to use that much.

So we settled in to our chiness dinner and watched Knight & Day. Funny, fun movie.

They left after the movie and Robert and I have just killed time watching recorded TV, the new Camelot series on HBO then CSI NY.

Until tomorrow, have a blessed day. God be with you and keep you.

Thursday, 7th of April 2011

Woke early today to get ready before Thersia came to pick me up. She was kind enough to pick me up for a memorial service in Weatherford for a friend of mine who passed away last week. His name was Hollis Langford, he was around 90 and he'd been a regular at Cracker Barrel since around the time we opened in 2005. He was a veteran of WW II, he loved to dance, he was an archer and he loved he's wife Irene of the past 3 years. He was such a gentleman and I really will miss him. It was a nice memorial but so short, it was at the catholic church here in town and lasted all of maybe 30 minutes. Wished it could have had a full history of him and the things he'd done for this country, he had amazing stories. I think there were probably all of 25 people there today. So very sad.

Afterward, we went to Goodwill for just a bit, didn't find much. Thersia took me by Sonic and then brought me home, where I warmed up some lunch, watched a little tv and fell asleep, took a fairly nice little nap.

Robert got home around 4 and he fixed our connection to net. I was excited, I was connected again. LOL

We just watched tv tonight, I had a PB & J for dinner. So not a lot to report about today.

Ya'll have a great day tomorrow, till tomorrow night, God Bless and keep you.

Wednesday, 30th of March to Wednesday, 6th of April

Wow, bad me, so much to catch you all up on. I guess I have a good excuse for being behind, this time not laziness but due to drugs, sleep and uncomfort it's taking me this long to be able to be on the computer comfortably for more than just a few minutes at a time.

So let me see what I can do to update you or bore you depending on your outlook. LOL

I posted last Tuesday that I was feeling better, lets say Tuesday was the good day after surgery then Wednesday was the day from hell. LOL. That 72 hour mark ya know. Wednesday wasn't as good of a day, it wasn't to terribly bad in the beginning of the day. The swollen neck was worse, the muscles and bruising was starting to make itself known. They'd removed the catheter and IV's etc all on Tuesday and let me start eating solids but it became harder on Wednesday due to the swelling. Got them to get me some liquids, drank tons and tons of water, tried to eat my dinner of grilled salmon and managed only a couple of bites before I really wasn't doing to well. Heart burn set in during the early evening, told the nurse who sent a request to the dr, a couple of hours later brought me pill, a pill, couldn't believe it, for heart burn. I need a frickin tums someone please. So around 8 or 9 and Robert had already left and earlier in the day they had placed me in my permanent collar, higher in the back a bit harder, they one they put me in after surgery is my shower collar not as big and hard, but back to being around 9 I had the heart burn, some how, and I don't think it was a hot flash, I just got so very hot, around my neck the collar was like suffocating me with the heat, my throat was swollen, I couldn't get comfortable at all, stalking my room, bumping down the thermostat, called the nurse, plus I was bloated from I believe all the water. It wasn't good then it was like something finally broke, I cooled down, climbed back into bed got myself all comfy and situated when the nurse finally came back with that pill. LOL, told him I was feeling better and asked him if he could set up my cpap machine, he got me all situated and I got some sleep.

Next morning still really couldn't eat, had a nice breakfast and just couldn't eat it, still had that heart burn. I was still having a mucus build up in the back of my throat, constant drainage constant coughing it up. Robert came in ready to pack me off back to home, but of course it's never that simple. LOL But it didn't really take long. I believe we were out by 11:30 or so. He loaded me up in the truck and down the road we went, me sleeping pretty much the whole way. When we got home not but a minute after walking in the door I started coughing up that mucus and before I knew it I was vomiting in the middle of my living room, it was like a water fall out of my mouth, straight water and some mucus, I got to the back door as soon as I could and out onto the patio where I stood for a good 5 minutes continuing to spew water from my body, then a few dry heaves, not good for some one with a gash across the throat. LOL Needless to say the rest of the day I stayed in the recliner and pretty much slept. I don't think I stayed awake more than 10, 15 minutes at a wack. Spent the whole night waking up probably once an hour till around 6 AM. Got up, stayed awake a while, slept again on & off.

So on Friday I did try to get up and move more, I'd start to feel bad or the mucus would start to build up and I'd think I've got to get up and move. So I did, I'd got sit on the back porch for a few minutes, I'd walk out front, just do a bit of walking around the house. I found that the more I moved the better I would start to feel. That's a good thing. LOL So by Friday evening I was starting to feel more like a human again. Better.

Saturday & Sunday much of the same, lol, just continuing to move more. Neck feeling better.

The thing is about this my throat hasn't really hurt, back of neck hasn't hurt, what's hurt was the tissue across my shoulders the muscles. My hands don't go numb, I don't wake up with numb hands or a headache, no numbness in my fingures. It's nice. I get a twinge occasionally in my neck were I think the nerves are re-attatching.

Monday - what did I do Monday? Hmm let's see, Oh yeah I remember NOTHING. LOL, Robert had to go back to work. I'm home alone, Amanda came by to shower before she had to go to school cause they didn't have any electricity from the storm that blew threw Sunday night, or should I say between 2 & 5 AM Monday morning. So just another day of just hanging out and moving a bit more. OH my friend Rhonda came by around 10:30 and dropped off some ravioli & meat balls and a salad, oh so good. Way more than just for my lunch, so I fixed myself up a small plate, took the rest of it an put it in a casserole dish, layering it with cheese & some Italian spices, put it in the oven and set the timer to back it around 4 for when Robert would be home. Rhonda came back by later after her lunch in Weatherford with her sisters and brought me a gift from one of them with cookies and a candle. Her and her granddaughter stayed a while and visited with me, or I should say Rhonda did a few things for me, bless her heart, she folded some of my laundry and took some wash out of the washer and placed it into the dryer for me. The needed to head out cause it was getting late, so they left and I wasn't home to long alone before Robert got home from work.

Yeah Tuesday is here and Niki will be coming to pick me up around 8:30, she's taking me to town to the hair dresser. Kayla met us up at Trimmers and she kindly brushed, washed and rebraided my hair, oh what a wonderful feeling. Showering is good and I've been able to do that no prob but to get my hair clean, felt wonderful. After the salon Niki took me to Cracker Barrel where I bought a birthday card for my friend Kelley and a bunny for my granddaughter Kalise. Talked to a few of my co workers and the manager on duty was Mani. We left there and went down to a new BBQ place on S. Main called Whole Hog or something like that, any way it's pretty good and we got some lunch and she brought me on home, I took it easy for a while till about 5 when I needed to change clothes and put on a bit of make up for my dinner date. LOL. Cindy came out to pick me up cause our friend Kelley had invited us to Los Vaqueros for dinner for her birthday. We had a nice night Kelley brought Lori with her and we just sat and visited and talked for oh 2 1/2 hours. Since they all 3 had to work the next morning we couldn't stay out and party all night. LOL, so Cindy brought me home. It was enjoyable and nice to be out. I was setting a new fashion statement with my newest neck accessory. LOL The rest of the night I just hung out in the living room first with Robert until he went to take a shower and go to bed then with the dogs. OH, btw I forgot to mention above that I started sleeping in the bed again Sunday night. Yeah, it's nice to not sleep the whole night in the recliner. Pulled out the wedge pillow and others that we bought when Robert had had his surgery and got myself all fixed up. So far it's working the one thing that's killing me is the cpap, I had to switch back to the full face, so having my neck constrained and having to cover my face with a mask in order to have air to breath - I found that it is important - oxygen is a must, lol. Just in case ya'll weren't sure. So when I do finally fall asleep and everything is relaxed then my chin still falls down and forward further into my neck brace pushing on my face mask which is pushing up into my eyeball area leaving a great impression in my face. Fun. Not

Woke up this morning feeling pretty good but a bit off, wasn't too bad until I took a zinc vitamin with my morning pills and bad mistake, took it on an empty stomach and it really messed me up the early half of the day, so again my day today has been spent sitting in the recliner, watching tv, nibbling a bit here and there on light food. I did walk down to the mail box today and got the mail, had 3 new movies in the box waiting. Brought them in and watched Letters to Juliet - good movie. Enjoyed it. Did some facebook stuff and been catching you all up on my blog, or I guess I should say catching myself up on the blog so that you all will be caught up. lol. At least I'm updated now. I probably forgot something I'm sure but I did want to say I went back to check out the update posts that my wonderful husband was so thoughtful to keep posted on my facebook on Monday, I enjoyed his updates and it was so nice to see who commented as well as Liked and those who just kept track of me all day. Thank you all so much for the thoughts and prayers. The concerns you all had and the love I felt from each post. Thank you, thank you, thank you,

God Bless you all and keep you safe until tomorrow.
