Monday & Tuesday, 30th & 31st of May 2011

The last two days of the month, memorial day, a day to remember those who have died serving our country.

I had to work yesterday, Monday, I accidently went to work an hour early and I have to say I came home VERY upset. I just get so very tired of being disrespected by certain employees who are allowed to repeatedly get away with breaking the rules and don't care. Managers who can't communicate with one another much less anyone else. We were busy but not so terribly busy to have the kind of problems that we had. Mike is really a great manager for the most part but his biggest down fall is when he thinks we are getting busy he gets very flustered and stressed and it carries over to the rest of the staff and then everyone is on edge. If I knew how to teach him to be calm and not start to go nuts when we have a half full dinning room.

I did manage to get one person PAR tested before I left work yesterday.

I came home mad and got changed then chilled out on the couch watching recorded tv. Then at 9 we watched the new extreme make over.

Today - Tuesday, went to work at 8:30 and had orientation today, 2 guys showed and the girl didn't show up, surprised at that. So today was like a typical Monday, slow. LOL

All in all it was a good day, left at 2:30 and came home and chillin. I kept getting sharp pangs on the left side of my neck, so not doing to much. Watching an old movie that I enjoyed from ages ago called "The Dark Chrystal" one of Jim Hensen's first movies. LOL

Waiting for America's got talent to start.

Hope everyone has a fantastic rest of the week. God bless

Sunday, 29th of May 2011

Up early, shower, cook some sausage & biscuits and on the road. LOL

Glen & La Rue showed up at 8 and we loaded up and headed down the road to Waxahachie to the faire. We arrived at 9:30, get parked, glen gets changed into his kilt and off tot he gate we go. I tell the Lady at the will call window our names - nothing. Hmm, where's our tickets? I turn around and heading toward us is my Uncle David with our tickets. LOL

The cast entertained everyone before the gates opened, it was fun. When the gates opened it was a push to get in. We just took our time. After we were inside the gates, David - Lord Bothwell came to visit with us for a bit before he headed off to do his thing.

We wondered around the park, visited shops, tried on clothes, ate, watched a few shows and the last thing we did was to see the Scottish court at 3:30, my Aunt & Uncle are in the cast, and we visited with them a few, got some pictures. Then at the end of their skit Lord Bothwell tells Queen Margaret that he has family here that he'd like to introduce to the court. Calls me up and then Robert but he'd gone to get water so there I stood in the middle of the circle being introduced to the court and all who looked upon. It was fun but we were done after that show, all 4 of us were tired. LOL We really had a wonderful day, got some sun but not to much, it was windy which was fine cause in the shade made it comfortable.

We headed home just after 4:30, got home around 6 and literally vegged, I was tired and dirty as was Robert. We watched some tv, I took a shower at 10:15 and felt more human. LOL
Robert came back shortly there after and took his shower and he went to bed which is where I'm heading off to now.

Good night all, have a wonderful holiday tomorrow, God Bless and keep you.

Saturday, 28th of May 2011

Slept in this morn till around 9, got up and ate a bowl of cereal and watched "You again". Robert was weed eating & mowing. After the movie I decided to take care of ALL my indoor plants, repotted a few, cleaned them up and fed them, they all look pretty again.

Pretty much didn't do to much else, Robert ran to Walmart around 3 cause we finally decided what we were going to do for the evening. We met Glen & La Rue at La choza's for dinner at 5 then all headed back to our house to drop off their truck and the four of us headed down to Granbury to sit and wait till 9 for our movie to start. LOL,

We went to the Granbury Brazos Drive In movie theater. Wow we all commented one how it had probably been 30 plus years since any of us had been to a drive in. Even though I saw it yesterday with Cindy I didn't mind seeing it again. We saw Pirates of the Carribean. We had so much fun they don't open the gates till 7:30, we got there at 7 and there was already a line of probably 25 to 30 cars lined up the road waiting for them to open, then when we did get in the gate, boy the front 2 rows were already full. We ended up on the row right behind the concession not in a bad spot. Of course it was hot, the sun was still up but the wind was blowing so it was a nice evening and watching others around us. We set up to chairs in the back of the truck, had to sleeping bags for padding for sitting on the bed more comfortably.

After the sun went down the wind really picked up. The were showing a second movie, Tangled but we needed to leave to get home and to bed cause we're going to Scarborough tomorrow morning. Can't wait looking forward to a great day.

Till tomorrow, have a fantastic memorial day weekend. God Bless this country and those who have served it faithfully. Military, police, fire.

God bless

Friday, 27th of May 2011

It's Friday, day one of my 3 days off. Up early surprisingly, woke up before the alarm went off, unbelievable. LOL, just laid in bed for a bit, just stretching and waking up. After I got up got on my laptop, checking messages, playing FB games. LOL Steph still having probs with her car so she came over to get the old truck and that wasn't running to well so she came back and contacted work to work from here. I cleaned the kitchen then went to get ready for my afternoon date with my girl Cindy.

I ran to Azle to the PO, then went to Rues and baby sat the place so she could run some deliveries. She got back a bit after 12 and I head on to Lake Worth to the Starplex to see Pirates in 3D. Can I just say AAAWWWEEESOME. It was fun and funny. We really enjoyed it. If you got to see it, remember to stay past the credits for the little teaser at the end.

After the movie we went over to Goodwill and found a few hidden treasures. From there we went to Dot's, Cindy has never been, just recently heard of it so I took her over. She found some new clothes to go with her new size, since she's lost over 40 lbs and is looking great.

After shopping at Dot's we went our seperate ways and I headed over to Walmart. Called La Rue to see what she was up to since Glen has had to work late a couple nights this week, was gonna invite her to come over, however Glen was home so they invited us to come eat Man burgers. I called Robert to see if he was up too it and he was and said he'd just meet me at their house. We ate a nice dinner enjoying it then we watched The Green Hornet, after the movie we headed home. So now here we are home watching Pawn Stars and about to go to bed here in just a bit.

So I think it might be a lazy day tomorrow, maybe do a few things here around the house. Who knows, see how I feel when I wake up.

Have a great weekend, God Bless

Thursday, 26th May 2011

Today was my Friday. Wooo whoooo. Busy day though, had people coming in getting computer stuff done and some PAR tests. First thing I did was finish my part of the schedule for next week, adding in those who need to do their computer stuff next week and meetings.

I got things ready for Mikes interviews tomorrow, did my DM(tattle tale)report done and sent off. Had a meeting with some of my trainers at 2:30 till about 3:45 and left work at 4. Went over to Goodwill cause a friend of mine told me that they have packages of 12 x 12 scrapbooking paper for $1. Went to check it out and didn't really see anything I liked. I did get a George Foreman for $3 and it works. I figured it would be good for when I start my diet, Cindy used hers for her meat when she did the same diet. I just tootled around Goodwill for a while checking out their stuff, not much, you can really tell it's in a poor small town. A lot of winter stuff, everything people couldn't get rid of in their garage sales. Don't get me wrong, I have found some really great stuff there before just not today.

Headed home where I've pretty much vegged since, watched movie & visited with Amanda, she came by and had her help me get the trash to the road before she left. Now I'm watching another movie "Delgo", not bad, animated good vs bad, teaching a lesson movie. LOL

So I have the next 3 days off, yeeeeee haww. Gonna get up in the morning and vacuum then head to the post office to mail a package, stop by Rues to get my car charger for my cell & my jack that I loaned her daughter to change her tire. Then meeting up with my BFF at 12:30 to see the new Pirates movie. Can't wait. Arrrr ye matey. ;-)

Robert should be home after 4 and I wont be far behind, maybe even before him. He's driving back from Amarillo tomorrow. Not sure what we'll do tomorrow night. Hmmm have to think about that.

Well until tomorrow, ya'll have a safe and happy weekend, Happy Memorial Day. God Bless

Wednesday, 25th May 2011

What a Wednesday! LOL. Not to terribly bad but long. Ended up working 10 hours today. Gave 8 PAR tests, got several people to get their overdue courses done. Travis(RS) got computer work done and his micros.

As much as I did today I feel like I didn't do anything. My neck is really tired, came home with a bit of a headache.

I called La Rue on my way home to see if she might want to meet me at La Choza's for a margarita. They make the best mango margarita's. She said she was game, so I came home & changed clothes and headed to the restaurant. We shared fajita's and just chatted. She got a little bit of hail damage on her roof last night from the storm and the power went out for a little while at the shop. Luckily it must not have been off to long, she didn't loose any flowers, that's a good thing. I got home just after 9 and just chilled on the couch, watching recorded stuff. Bummed just found out gotta watch Biggest Looser online due to the fact of the storms yesterday they spent the last 48 minutes of the two hour show showing the radar and talking about what was happening. Dern them. LOL

So that's about it. Tomorrow's my Friday, looking forward to it. Got Friday, Saturday & Sunday off, woooo whoooo.

Good night all, God Bless.

Tuesday, 24th May 2001

Got to work today and stepped right into being busy for me - the store on the other hand, not so busy. Mike was there and he was supposed to be off today but apparently Shawn was stuck at the airport in Kansas City, likely story, seems he's pulled that one before but I didn't mention that to Mike.

So had Nick and Travis(new RS) ready to get started on Menus and had my computers busy all day with people doing their over dues and taking PAR tests. In between all that I was checking on the back ground checks I sent off yesterday, getting all my papers in order so that I can call for interviews and being busy. So around 4 Stephanie called me at the store and was crying and in between her being so upset I got "my radiator blew up on me in my face". Scared me to death. I had two ladies on the computer, one trying to finish her PAR test and the other finishing her last two courses so I could test her. I was trying not to cry, wanting to start calling people to find out what to do, calling Steph back to find out what she was doing. I got Christina through her PAR told Sarah to finish her courses, lock my office and turn off the lights when your done, I gotta go to Burleson.

I jumped in the truck, called Niki to see where she was since I knew she was headed down, called my sister that lives in Burleson to see if she could find Steph and get her to a facility that could take care of her. Because I was imagining the worse. Called Amanda, her and Jason were heading down, I called Robert to give him a heads up. Reminded me of the days when he could go TDY and within days of him leaving something always happened to one of the kids. Glenda, Robert's sister called me and said she was on her way as was Mary Lou(Grandma). We were all headed to Hugley in Burleson at that point.

Talked to Sis and they were going to an urgent care on 1187 & Crowley Rd. She felt that it looked ok and that the ER would make Steph sit in the waiting room for hours. Niki found them I wasn't to far behind. When I got there Steph, Niki, Bailey(niece) and my two sisters, Kisty & Sissy(Triesha) were all standing in the vestibule talking. I opened the door took a look at Steph and breathed a sigh of relief. She looked fine, no blisters or falling off skin on her face, no redness. Looked a little like she got a fast tan, you could see her sunglasses outline, thank Heavens she had her sunglasses on. I gave her a big hug and cried a bit thankful she was alright.

She was more scared and traumatized by what happened I believe that she just wasn't sure what to do. So here's what happened, she was headed home from work up Crowley Rd. She wasn't even in Burleson. She was at a convenience store on the corner of McCart & Crowley Rd, so she was in Fort Worth. Sissy went and picked her up and all ended well. I took Steph back to her car after we went to Auto zone to get another radiator cap and then stopping at Kroger for bottled water.

After stopping to get Steph's car we headed back to the house. Amanda was here waiting when we got back and we spent most the rest of the evening getting Netflix's to work on th PS3. We watched "Easy A" pretty funny. Not a bad movie.

That's it, I gotta go to bed, early day again tomorrow, God Bless you all

Monday, 23rd May 2011

Monday, Monday - here we are. Had orientation this morning, only one in class this week. Rather odd day for a Monday, everyone seemed a little off. Major storm blew through, lots of rain. Gave a PAR test, got three people to catch up on their over due courses. More PAR tests tomorrow. Sarah came in at 2:30 to do her courses and was a bit late she had problems with her tire.

Went outside to look at it with her and big chunk of rubber missing, lucky she didn't have a blow out, told her it would need to be changed before she could go anywhere. Made sure she had a good spare. When we were on our way back into the building we actually watched a man hit one of our managers cars in the parking lot. He turned into the space and his left front bumper tapped the rear right, no damage but most people would back up and correct to pull into the parking space but ohhhh no, this guy seriously stopped for a sec, you could see it on his face and then proceeded to pull into the space scraping the side of the rear bumper and tire. He saw Sarah and I as he pulled in. We went on inside the store and looked back, I watched him get out and check his bumper, no real damage and come into the store heading straight to the restrooms. Never once looking to see if he did any kind of damage to Fred's vehicle. I immediately went to Fred and told him what had happened. Needless to say he was a bit upset. He found Mani and Mani went to speak to the man, who at first denied it. Then said it was just a scape. He then wanted to talk to Fred, telling him it wasn't any big deal it could be buffed out etc. Fred told him yeah but I will still have to pay someone to buff it out. The man then said "What do you want from me?" getting really nasty. Pretty much being nasty the whole time. Fred looked at him and said "your insurance". Mani said when Fred walked away the man looked at him and said he's just being a big A--hole.

Seriously, seriouly this man didn't see he had done anything wrong at all and if we hadn't seen him he would have come in bought his candy and left. Totally unreal.

Got home around 4, chilled out for a bit. Chatted with Steph for awhile - she found out today that the person she's supposed to room with in Cancun in July for the wedding has now backed out as well(apparently all of this girls brides maids have all backed out except Steph). She wanted to know if I wanted to go. LOL, could love to but it would be $1000 for me to go, $300 for the airfare and the rest for the 4 nights at the hotel. It's $320 a night for double occupancy - it's an all inclusive resort hotel. This is the list of what they include:

The Moon Palace is an all-inclusive resort. All of their rates include the following all-inclusive package:

  • Hotel taxes and gratuities
  • All meals and snacks
  • Unlimited premium alcoholic beverages
  • Unlimited natural juices and soft drinks
  • Access to all Palace Resorts
  • 24-hour room service
  • Fitness center
  • Wireless Internet access
  • Daily activities program and entertainment
  • Theme parties and nightly entertainment
  • Non-motorized water sports
  • Scuba diving demonstration
  • Towel service and beach and pool chairs
  • Scheduled transportation to Sun Palace, Cancun Palace and Cancun shopping centers
  • Free Phone Calls to the Continental US and Canada
So you can see I'd love to go with but we have a big trip planned in September. Of course I really feel sorry for Amanda - the bride - she's an orphan, was raised by an aunt who doesn't really care for her. She's marrying a really nice guy but his family is paying for the wedding, she did want it in a smaller resort, less expensive and they pretty much took over, changing all the plans and of course she doesn't feel she can speak up for what she really wants and now they say that because of the expense of paying for most the family to fly down because they didn't buy their tickets earlier like Steph did, she can't have a reception. Of course Amanda(Steph's twin) would like to go but she doesn't have a passport or a job cause she's going to school full time. So only if her and Jason(the boyfriend)get his settlement from the car accident(broke his neck - lots of medical trouble - totaled Amanda's car)she says she might could go.

Back to my chilling at home, called Thersia Evonne to wish her a happy belated birthday and she invited me to Fuzzy's in Weatherford tonight to hear one of their musician friends who was going to be playing out on the patio. So I went, it was nice, weather was perfect, nice breeze not hot and surprisingly not humid and sticky even after all the rain we'd had earlier in the day. Thersia's hubby Scotty plays steel guitar at events with this guy - Casey Thompson, very good singer, guitar player and entertainer.

Stopped by Niki's on my way home to pick up my vacuum & carpet cleaner and got home at 9. Once again just chillin on my couch, playing my games and chattin with my man who's in Lubbock till Wednesday then on to Amarillo till Friday, he'll be home Friday some time.

So that's it for my day. Have a wonderful day tomorrow. God Bless

Sunday, 22nd of May 2011

Well another day at the grind stone. LOL Got to work just before 9 and as usual hit the floor running. Not a bad day, semi busy but not, steady, we really didn't get a rush until 10 till 1, very late and very unusual. We think it's cause of the construction on the access road. Hard to get into the center were we are, if you don't turn immediately at the Whataburger you have to go down past everything and take the road behind Kohl's. Travelers would miss it, locals are still trying to get used to it and alot miss it.

A few minor issues nothing that couldn't be handled. I get a chance to see quite a few of my newbies, we still got work to do. LOL Sent Nick one of our hosts home at the beginning of the morning, he was in a terrible state, personal issues. Poor kid couldn't quit crying. Then at the end of my shift just after 2 we let Morgan go home cause her Grandfather has been in the hospital sick, I guess on life support cause she was crying so hard, they'd decided to take him off the machines and she's very close to him. So we told her to go home. I got out of the store and headed home at 2:25.

Robert was watching the Ranger game when I got home and we just chilled. We watched "How to train your dragon" then I turned on "Lord of the Rings" and it wasn't long before the bad weather moved in and lost the satellite. Luckily it was back on before 8 and we watched "Game of Thrones" loving the show - so much intrigue and mystery. The watched "The Killing".

Now I'm sitting here writting my blog and watching "Jesse Stone" recorded earlier. I LOVE TOM SELLECK.

That's about it for the day. Robert will be heading to Lubbock in the morning for most of the week with work. So I'll be home, ALL alone. LOL

Wishing you each a wonderful week. God Bless and keep you - since the rapture didn't come on Saturday. LOL If he really knew his bible he would have known it repeatedly says "no one, not even the son knows the day or time, only the father God knows" Of course that's a paraphrase of the true word of God. But I think you get the jist of it.

God Bless

Saturday, 21st of May 2011

Got up early this morning and headed to Azle to the shop to help La Rue out with all the corsages. It was busy. We had to put all the live flowers on to the corsages today, got them all put together during the week and yesterday. And again last minute stragglers.

Went to Wally world afterward to pick up a few things for tonight. Got home and put away the groceries and started fixing stuff. LOL, I made some brazilian green sauce to go with the brisket that Glen made, some guacamole, Robert made a wonderful shrimp and pasta salad, he smoked the shrimp and it was totally awesome. Cindy got to the house at 5:30 and we showed her around the trailer afterward we loaded up the car and headed to Glen & La Rue's for Glen's birthday party.

We had a really nice evening, great food and enjoyed playing a game of dominoes. Robert and I got home a little after 11, watched Dr. Who and just junk tv. Gonna head to bed here in a few.

Ya'll have a great day, enjoy the rest of the weekend, God Bless.

Friday, 20th of May 2011

Work at 8:30 this morning, got a few things taken care of, gave 2 PAR tests to one person, they passed one but failed the other. Figured out how many employees we have total in the building, we're up to 82, this is with the close to 20 that we've hired in the past 3 weeks. We need to have at least 95 employees so I have alot more work ahead. LOL

Got off at 12:30 ran to Michael's to pick up some white silk roses for La Rue, headed home and changed clothes and then headed to the shop. We had just a few corsages left to prep up today, a couple more orders(those people who wait till the last second). Got all but like 3 finished. Robert & Glen came up to the shop and we all headed to Springtown to have dinner with Glen's sister Nania and her family at a place called Las Cerria's, can I say wow, I came home totally stuffed. I ate way to much.

So here I sit on my couch, posting before I fall asleep and watching Camelot. LOL

Till tomorrow my fellow friends, God Bless

Thursday, 19th of May 2011

After falling asleep as early as I did last night I was awake by 6:45 this morning so I decided I'd get up and up date my blog before I needed to leave for Arlington to see Dr. Teal for my followup. I started it was almost done but I didn't want to push the time so left it. So ya'll get like triple blog, lol.

Made it to the Dr's office in Arlington with out any kind of probs. All is still doing well, wants to see me one more time in a month this time with x-rays to do a final check on the healing. I can start light exercising, still no impact, no lifting weights over my head, do light arm weights with curls. So next week I may try to go back to the gym. I really need to get back.

I left the Dr's office just after 10 and headed into Fort Worth to the Botanical Gardens - nice day, cloudy/overcast - wanted to get some pictures. I'll be posting those on FB later.

Left the gardens around 11:30 and head over to pick up Cindy and her co-worker Rosie to go to lunch, went to Mexican Inn across the road and catty corner from their office. Had a nice, quick lunch and then headed west and then north to Azle to help La Rue. Had to stop off in Lake Worth at the Hobby Lobby to get some silk flowers for Rue for the corsages we're making.

Amanda has been helping out this week. Been busy this week. I got there and jumped in making corsages. More business came in, guys picking up tuxes also. Wrapped up and headed home around 8. So now here I sit. LOL

Oh, I do have to tell you, 2 young men came in to order a corsage for one's girl friend. Amanda was helping him out, trying to figure out colors and what she might want, so in the processes this kid tells Amanda that the GF isn't to big, but she is a wrestler. LOL
After they left I told Amanda that that girls daddy didn't have anything to worry about. LOL

So until tomorrow, everyone have a fantastic Friday, till next time, God Bless and keep you all safe.

Tuesday & Wednesday, 17th & 18th of May 2011

To all my readers I apologize for not posting the past two days. When I sit down with my lap top Tuesday night and again last night I fell asleep, getting nothing done. No reading of the email, no games, no catching up on posts. LOL So here I am catching you all up on the past two days.

Tuesday - day 2 of orientation with our 2 newest hires. Also had Amy one of my servers in the office doing her over due courses and then taking her PAR test. She's so funny, she's a nursing student and will be done in December. Between her and I we kept laughing, I told her I was going to blog about her on my blog. I went over menus and plate presentation with the newbies and then put them on the computers . I managed to get caught up on some of my over due work, trying to see who needs evals, who needs to take PAR tests and who has over due courses. Left work just after 4 to head home to get ready to go to my mom in laws graduation.

Yeap, my mom in law is really an amazing woman, she'll be 76 this year in July and she's more active than most 20 or 30 year olds. She belongs to a singles camping group, so one weekend a month she gets in her little camper and goes off camping. She has a couple of boyfriends, platonic. She's been going to Crown Baptist bible college the past 3 years and she graduated Tuesday night. Pretty awesome lady.

When we got home from the graduation a little after 9, like I said earlier I sat down on the couch, pulled open the lap top and almost promptly fell asleep. LOL

Yesterday - Wednesday, got to work around 8:30 and started my day back at working on who needs to be in my office next week doing what. We hired another guy for next weeks class. Jennifer came in and got on one of the computers to do her courses. I left work at 11:30 to go to a luncheon for Michael Williams who is running for Senate, hosted by the Parker County Tea Party Group. I really liked this man, very personable, not like a politician, as Dawn said he's a statesman not a politician. Got back to work at 1:30. Samantha & Alyssa the two newest came in around 2:00 and I started them on the tests reviewing what they learned yesterday in menu's class cause Jennifer was finishing up her courses. They all went to the Rising Star meeting at 3:30, large class, should have been 18 people in the class had 12 or 13. Still big.

I do have to tell ya'll when I got back to work I found out that Mike, who said he WOULD NOT put Nick on the schedule to learn grill RENIGGED. Nick was walking out as I came in and said I needed to assign him grill courses, then Fred told me and I told Fred no, then I said what makes you think he can do this, his response we need some one else up there with Mike(a grill cook - not the manager) he can't do it. I said he can't even stay at the job he's supposed to do(host stand) what make you think he'll stay on the grill. We had a talk with him. Bully for you. I was soooooooo mad. I told Mike that before he can even train with Lynda next week he'll have to do all his courses including the 5 over due courses from the last area he wanted to work in. Plus he'll have to go through menu's and plate presentation and grill micros work book. I'm gonna make him go through all the hoops just like a new hire.

I worked the rest of the afternoon on going through the PAR cards and evals, getting everyone updated and finding a place to put them on the schedule for next week. It was almost 7:30 before I finished so it was close to 8 when I got home. I changed clothes, took off my make up, I was still pissed. Got something to eat and vegged in the living room with my lap top and promptly fell asleep.

So here is everything for the past 2 days, God Bless

Monday, 16th of May 2011

Another day at the office. LOL
Got to work this morning at 8:15, had a chance to chat with Mike, he looked great after his week of vacation. Brought him up to speed on the RS's in training this week, the 2 in orientation this morning and how the day went yesterday.

Got the class done, got some of the evals updated on some of the PAR cards, yeah me. I hope that tomorrow I'll be alittle further along in that regard and will be able to get people in for their tests in the next week.

Came home around 4, tired, took a nap and when I got up I called my sister to see if I could get my camera back from her so that I will have it tomorrow night for my mom in laws graduation from bible college. I wont have time to get it tomorrow before we have to be at the college.

So I headed to Burleson around 7 to meet my sister, her hubby & my nephews at Rosa's for dinner and get my camera. I left it with her Saturday night to take more pics of my niece at her Drill Team Spring Show. So enjoyed a nice short visit with the family, got my camera back and headed on home.

That was my day, no big events, no major drama from work, it's been so very nice. Until tomorrow ya'll have a great week. God Bless

Saturday & Sunday, 14th & 15th of May 2011

Saturday, my day off. Slept late, played a bit on FB while watching a couple of recorded shows. Then headed to the bedroom to start going through my clothes, sort, fold and hang. Took a shower and got ready to head to Burleson to see my niece Bailey perform in her drill teams spring show. GREAT JOB Bailey. It was really good. The new Centennial High School in Burleson - First year drill team all freshmen and sophomores. Niki, Stephanie and Cherokee one of Niki's friends went with. We left at intermission due to my neck, still get tired and achy especially if I get cold. You know how when you get cold and you tighten up around the neck and shoulders well it was cold in the auditorium and my neck was already bothering me a bit before we got there from my long week at work this past week. So that was about it for my Saturday.

Sunday, had to work today 9 to 2. Mani opened and Fred was in at 8, I believe he told me he get there this morning at 7 though. Good thing. We weren't to busy when I got there at 9 but it didn't take long. I took control of the dinning room, a good thing I did. I'd like to say that I rocked keeping control of the dinning room and the hostesses. We rocked, kept the dinning room full, not to long of a wait and kept the servers all busy doing what they are supposed to do, I directed them and we didn't need to pull any bussers out to the dinning room at all. The way it should be.

So all in all a good day. Got home to wonderful smells in my kitchen, honey cooked his special Penne Rustica, OMG, it was wonderful. He smoked the chicken before he made the dish. So it was Smoked chicken & Shrimp Penne Rustica. Gotta love my man - he cooks, cleans and does his own laundry. Speaking of he'd also stripped the bed, washed the sheets and flipped the mattress. I helped him remake the bed when I got home. He surprised me cause I was going to strip the bed and do the sheets when I got home from work today. It was nice, I didn't get home till almost 4, I know I said I worked till 2, actually clocked out around 2:15, then waited cause one of my servers needed to talk to me before I left - they only work on the weekends. Then sat in my truck and talked with one of my other employees about some other stuff going on in the store so it was after 3:30 before I was headed to the house.

After I ate my late lunch early supper, I took a nap. Then got up just before 7 and watched Extreme Make over home edition(love that show), Game of Thrones on HBO, intriguing and The Killing on AMC, even more intriguing.

Of course during all that I did my laundry for the week and visited with my daughters, Steph had come over for the Penne(Robert invited them all)before my nap and was still here when I got up, Niki was here when I got up and Amanda came over not long after I got up. LOL
Niki had already left before Amanda arrived though cause her hubby Randy was getting off work early due to the fact they weren't busy. So she took some food home with her.

Basically a quite evening at home. Oh I did call Justin to make sure they made it home from Houston ok, so all was well with all my kiddo's.

That's about it. Wishing you all a fab week, till next time, God Bless

Thursday & Friday, 12th & 13th of May 2011

Ok, this time it wasn't my fault that I didn't get Thursday posted, the site was down for repairs or some such sort. So here is Thursday's & today.

Thursday was another long day for me at work, another 10 hour day. Managed to get a few things accomplished once I got the trainees doing what they needed to do. Still alot to catch up on. Spent almost an hour speaking with a lady who had come in looking for a donation to help her and her partner raise money for the Susan G. Komen 3 day in Nov. They have to raise $2300 per person in order to walk. Wow, I've wanted to do this walk for years and meeting the lady yesterday was so nice, she was really very sweet, she's beaten cancer twice in her life, once when she was younger and had leukemia and the second was breast cancer. She's never had to raise money or look for donations for anything, so we sat down and I shared all my knowledge on fund raising, other avenues and ideas.

After our visit I got a few things done in my office and then headed to Walmart to grab a few things before going home. When I got home Robert had made shrimp & chicken stir fry, which was very good. Then I just chilled out on the couch watchin tv and playing FB games. Tried to post my blog and couldn't even get in.

Friday the 13th - just another day. LOL
got to work early today knowing that Mani would need to leave early and then at 9 Fred came in and just after that we got hit, busy, busy. Had 4 of my trainees come in to finish up the last of training. AT 10 I had to clock into Shift Leader and was busy from then on. We had several large groups today, not a bad day, busy. We like. At 3 I clocked out of SL and into ETC because on of our dish guys Raul who doesn't speak any english came into take his PAR test and Maria on of my hosts who helps me when I need a translator was there to help today. Got them set up and I clocked out around 3:35 and headed home to get ready for my date with my hubby. We went up to Fort Worth just cause and went to dinner.

All in all not a bad day, long week though, neck tired, I have tomorrow off but I have to work on Sunday as a Shift Leader, that aughta be fun, lol.

Hope ya'll have a WONDERFUL weekend, God Bless

Wednesday, 11th of May 2011

What a busy day at work for me, 7 of my 8 from yesterday came in, the 8th - Justin my new dish guy has everything done, got his computer work done last week so he just needed to come in for the rising star meeting, at 3:30. He is such a gentleman for someone so young his parents did a great job raising him.

Put my host & retail on to the computers and my 5 servers and I set up in the 3rd dinning room. They needed to copy menus, then we had to go over menu & plate presentation then the quiz after that. Once we were done with all that we ordered some lunch and they waited until 3:30 for the meeting. What I enjoyed was sitting in the dinning room and getting to enjoy the storm that blew through. My office is in the middle of the building with no windows and it's usually a meat locker. I do have to say the 2 young ladies doing their computer work were freezing. I have jackets and a snuggy in my office cause it gets down right cold.

Got to sit down and eat around 3 and Lynda was still at work so I shared my shrimp poboy with her since we haven't seen each other or gotten to visit in for ever.

I finished up all the paperwork from orientation and left just after 6 tonight, let's hope I have time tomorrow to finally figure out who needs to PAR, needs evals and all that. It will probably take me a couple of days to get that all caught up. And everyone is asking me. I know, I know - give me time - I've been wrapped up in orientation and training for the 2 weeks I've been back to work. Two weeks ago today. Monday was 6 weeks since my surgery. My neck still gets tired and achy after so many hours. I take my bone growth stimulator and my tylenol with me to work and it helps. Then I take something stronger when I get home if needed.

Not much going on at home, just chillin like we usually do. Then the power went out around 10:45 was out for about an hour and here I am. LOL

So once again I'll close out with have a great day enjoy what's left of the week, God Bless

Monday & Tuesday, 9th & 10th of May 2011

Monday, monday, lol

Up very early to get on the road to Waco, picked up my Aunt Pat to take her with me. We got out of Fort Worth a bit after 8 and onto I-35 headed south. We had a nice visit driving down, stopped in West at the Kolache shop, some of the best kolache's in my opinion, of course I've been getting them there since I was a kid. Amanda gave me her order before I left and of course I bought enough to give Justin some I knew he'd want some once he found out we'd stopped.

Pat and I got to Edna's right at 10:30, got to visit with them for 30 minutes before the rest of the family arrived. My son and his family are spending the week in Houston/Galveston with MY MOM & sister so if I wanted to see them I had to go to Waco. I thought I could go down to Houston but after being off work 4 weeks with no pay I couldn't afford time or money to go. Wished I could be with them this week.

Back to our visit though, got to spend a little time with my sweet baby grand daughter, she's the absolute cutest. If you see me on facebook you can see the pics I took of everyone. I didn't get a 4 gen but I did get the 5 gen. Didn't get any pictures of me and my Aunt Edna or my mom & Edna. So much to do and so little time.

We had a wonderful visit, but again it was to short. Pat and I headed back to Fort Worth, we got into town just after 4 and we stopped at Dos Gringos for dinner before I took her home. I got home around 5:30 and pretty much crashed. Robert and I were both tired and both in bed and out by 10:45. If you know me you know I'm a night owl and I'm up till 1 or 2 in the AM most the time. So hitting the sack before 11 I'm either really really tired or sick. LOL

Got up for a day of work today. Knew I'd have about 6 people in orientation and it turned out that I had 8. A very large class had to do most of it in the 3rd dining room cause my office isn't big enough. I set up my office theater style so that they could all get in there and watch the videos. I think it will be a good group of people 5 servers, 1 retail, 1 host and 1 dish - the dish guy is awesome, I may have told ya'll about him a few days ago. We did all his paper work last week so he could work dish over the weekend, his name is Justin and he's so very polite and all my dish people think he's great. Hard worker.

I'll have a very busy next couple of days and we're still hiring. I can't wait till we are up in numbers. I have got to get all my other people in to do their computer work and take PAR tests. I was hoping to get that updated this week, I just don't know if I'll have time. But I have got to get these people on the schedule for next week to take their tests. Gotta get caught up on the evals that the managers need to do.

I left work just after 3 today, came home and changed clothes. Went to La Rue's for a while cause she made a ton more changes, haven't gotten pics yet but will and will get them posted along with the million others I need to post some day. LOL

So there's my last two days in a nut shell. Sorry not very exciting.

Till tomorrow have a great night and a fantastic week, God Bless you all

Saturday & Sunday, 7th & 8th of May 2011

Mother's day weekend, busy busy busy.

Helped La Rue at the flower shop all day Saturday. It was fun, busy. One lady though got nasty with La Rue about her corsages, down right mean. But all in all I think it was a great day. Got home around 6 and Robert had made his breakfast burrito mix. So that's what I had for my dinner. We thought about going out with some friends but Robert wrenched his neck and wasn't doing well so we hung out at home. I brought home my yellow roses that Robert had La Rue get me for mom's day and he gave me a new bottle of my perfume which I've been out of for a couple of months. Plus he went to Ross and found me a new pair of shoes. Gotta love that man. LOL and I do.

Woke up this morning around 8 and Robert made me waffles and bacon for breakfast so that I could eat before I had to go to work, yes I had to work today, on Mother's Day. Remember I work in a restaurant and Mom's Day is our second busiest day of the year. And it was very busy, I don't think it was as busy as last year but who knows, I know I didn't stop from 10 to 3. When I left work I went to Walmart to fill up the truck, swung into Sonic and got a Strawberry Limeade and Robert a chocolate shake. When I got home he had smoked a turkey breast and made potatoes augratin and green beans. It was really good. Amanda & Jason came to visit, Stephanie stopped by and later on Justin called. I'd spoken to Niki my baby girl this morning, I should have started with that's how I started my morning cause she called just after I had woke up. Then before I left for work while checking my facebook I read her post and it broke my heart. She's working at Comfort Suites at the front desk as people were checking in or leaving she wished them a Happy Mother's Day and some of them would ask her if she was a mom, her post was as follows:

today = pretty rough. Wishing happy Mothers' Day to people and then they ask in turn if I am a mother. I get a little stuck...

She had two miscarriages last year, it was pretty rough. I just cried and when I read it to her Dad he got a bit choked up as well. When she was around 4 she came down with Henoch Schonlein Purpura, it only lasted 3 days and we were fortunate that she never had a re-occurance. Essentially it's the white blood cell that attack disease in our body had over reacted, she wasn't sick but the Dr said it could have been a week to two weeks earlier and her immune system was still working in overtime. Now that she's an adult her blood is attacking the fetus that she carries like it were a disease. Please keep her in your prayers that her dr can help her that they can figure out what to do to help her in the future if she gets pregnant again.

So that's pretty much it for my day. Got a very nice euro garden from Steph and Amanda & Jason gave me a really nice metal coca-cola collectors sign and a very nice card.

Tomorrow I get to go to Waco and see my boy, my daughter in love and my beautiful granddaughter, and my mom, sister and great aunt. I'll be taking my mom's sister with me. Looking forward to a wonderful day and visit. Gonna stop in West and get some of those wonderful Kolaches. Till tomorrow, ya'll have a great week. God Bless

Friday, 6th of May 2011

What a busy day. LOL - got up early, shower & dressed and headed to Azle to the Cozy Creations Flower Shop. Not long after I got there I needed to run to Walmart to get fresh fruit for a fruit basket that some one ordered to be delivered today, did I get a picture of it, NO, duh. I got pictures of all the other stuff later in the day but totally forgot my basket which turned out awesome if I say so myself. I had 2 apples, an orange, 2 pears, 2 kiwi, 2 mango's, 4 sm bags of peanuts & cashews, green & purple grapes, and some strawberries.

Stayed busy answering the phone for orders, helping those who were coming in for plants or flowers. Worked on corsages. It was not a bad day in my opinion. Some new customers, some return customers that didn't know it changes owners and all was well.

I left the shop just before 6 and went to pick up Glen and headed to my house to wait for Stephanie to show up cause we were going to Lake Worth Starplex Theater to meet Cindy & Amanda to see THOR. Awesomely good movie - Stan Lee's appearance a good one. And of course you always have to stay for the real ending - after the credits. You can tell who the real fans are they didn't move once the credits started rolling. The ones who got up and left never know what they're missing. LOL

Took Glen home and Steph and I got back to the house around 11 and here I sit writing to tell you about my day. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. Don't forget your mom's, tell her how much she means to you and you love her.

God Bless and keep you

Thursday, 5th of May 2011

Another early day. Didn't get anything done that I had planned to do. Put one of the new hires on the computer, another came in at 10 so that I could do the new hire paper work and a third to do the micros. I did get a new computer today. Yee Haw, seriously you don't know how excited I am to have a new computer. The one that they replaced I've called Tech support on numerous times in the past 3 years. Imagine the old computer and I mean old - like from the 90's and the new one, OMG it's smaller than a lap top. It's sooooo nice. Now if the other one would just die. LOL

Got everyone lined up for what they need to do tomorrow since I wont be at work. Left work just after 2, headed home, changed clothes and off to the flower shop to help with the Mother's Day stuff. Worked on the corsages for tomorrow and Saturday.

We closed up shop just after 7 and headed home. Not much after that. LOL just watched some tv and chilled.

Some days I have more to tell than others. I can truly say it was a very uneventful day.
Ya'll have a great weekend. God Bless and keep you till tomorrow

Wednesday, 4th of May 2011

May the forth of May be with you. LOL Did ya have a great day?

Early to work, 8:30. Everyone showed up that was supposed to to do what I needed them to do. Yeah. I'm not caught up on all paper work and computer work regarding everyone who we've had in orientation since Wednesday of last week. Ya'll just don't know how happy I am.
Now to catch up on all evals and overdue PAR test, I tackle that tomorrow, ugh. LOL

Left work just before 5 and headed home. Once I got home, Robert had just finished washing the bike and it looked nice. He said maybe he'll take me for a ride this weekend. I said maybe.

I'm working at the Flower shop for La Rue Friday & Saturday and then 10 to 3 at Cracker Barrel Sunday.

We headed to La Choza's for dinner at 6:30 with Glen and La Rue. We had a nice visit, always great food and margarita's.

Got home just after 8 and I got comfortable and now can't keep my eyes open. Been having eye headaches again today, back of my head. I guess that would be my optic nerves. LOL
Took a muscle relaxer, tylenol. So there ya go.

I'm gonna go to bed now. So ya'll have a fantastic night and day tomorrow.

God Bless and keep you

Tuesday, 3rd of May 2011

What a day! Went in at 12:30 and once again immediately got busy. Had a stack of aps to call to set up for interviews, had another stack to call to bring them in to discuss uniform policy and set a time for orientation for next week. Had to call the two coming in for the afternoon to do computer work to tell them not to come in. The two who came in at 1 I put them observing, one in cash and one in retail. And the other 2, one on the computer in my office and one on the micros. By 3 my neck was really giving me fits, tylenol wasn't really working. I made up a list of all those we've hired and added in the new ones for next week and were each of them are in their training for Mike and Fred. So I have another 5 people lined up for orientation this next week. Actually bringing one in tomorrow to do just the paper work so that we'll have an extra body in dish on Sunday. And yes I have to work 10 to 3 on Mother's Day. Knew I would. Oh well.

I left work a little after 5 due to my neck hurting and came home changed clothes and just chilled out.

Not a whole lot to tell about today. lol Now tomorrow may be a different story, I'm going in at 8:30 and may not be done till 9 tomorrow night. Who knows? One of the new hires asked me today "what do you usually work?" I laughed and said my schedule literally changes minute to minute. Anyone else out there with a job like mine???

I have to let you all know that I sometimes wished I knew how many people actually read these posts, read my blog and are I guess you could say followers, lol I know who a couple of you are, lol, love you guys, ya'll are awesome.

That's it for this evening, God Bless and keep you.

Monday, 2nd of May 2011

I didn't get this done last night, tired when I got home work almost 10 hours yesterday. Didn't get off work until 10. First part of my day not to bad slept a bit late cause I knew I was gonna be at work all evening. Got to work at 12:30 and barelly had a chance to set my stuff down before I had to jump right in and help. Weather was cold and wet so we were busy, for a Monday not the norm. We had 2 cooks and 4 servers, we had to pull Ferrin out of Prep to come out and serve giving us 5 and my one host was seating, cleaning tables and taking orders and in my opinion neglecting the line at the door. I helped seat some of our guests, got an order pad and started taking orders and got those rang in. Had so many dirty tables I was about to grab a bus tub but I can't lift and carry that once full. So went and got Jennifer who was in dish but had gone to back up to start making bread cause we were almost out. I went to back up asked her if she'd go and bus the tables I'd make the bread. Answer - we're not supposed to do that any more. Reply - I know but I can't lift the tubs right now, not supposed to. Please help. So she went out and I started making bread. So from 12:30 to 1:30 we were slammed. Took us quite a while to catch up getting the dinning room back in order. Mani & I were out there aroung 3 he was sweeping I was wiping down tables, we only had 3 servers then. Got the dinning room back in order, Mani and I ate lunch just after 3:30 cause one of my new hires came in at 3:30 to get on the computer. Just after 4 I got on the computer in the managers office to make sure I had all new hires that were coming in at 5 pre-registered in the system. Sent off a couple of back ground checks for potential candidates.

The new trainees started showing up at 4:20, better early than late. LOL Was supposed to have 5 had 4, not sure what happened to #5? Tina was interviewing a lady who wants to transfere into our store from Temple while I was still in the office, Tina came in and asked if we could just put her into the computer, as a transfer sure. So she brought back this lady and I tried, she was still active in the Temple store so I had to call them and ask them if they'd remove her from their computer so we could place her in ours. No prob. Of course I couldn't put her in right away so got her info and told her I'd get her in later in the day or tomorrow once the computer system caught up. Tina entertained my newbies while I was in the office with the transfer.

Got the class back to my office and started orientation, did a bit of stretching cause our 4th couldn't get to us until close to 6 due to her other job. Kristie was still on the computer doing her courses and afterward she got to finish watching the videos she didn't watch on friday cause of the POS I have for a DVD player. It worked ok for last night and I gave Mani my Ops 50 order which included a new DVD player - so upset with him, most the stuff on the list was supposed to have been ordered at the beginning of April while I was out because we were going to be out of it - like Employee Hand Books - so now we are out, I haven't had any to give the last 6 people and it will be 2 weeks before I get them.

I finished up with my group last night at 5 till 10 got them out of the building, got a couple things straightened in my office and headed out myself.

Needless to say it was a VERY long day. I'll try to make sure I report on today when I get home tonight. God love you all, Blessings for a wonderful week.

Sunday, 1 May 2011

Happy May Day. Hope everyone had a nice day even though it was cold, wet & windy and apparently snowy in some places in the country today.

I went into Fort Worth today and picked up my friend Cindy and we went to the Fort Worth Children's Museum to the Omni to see Wild Ocean. We had a very nice day - we got to the museum early got our tickets free - cause we brought cell phones to be recycled - for the theater and the museum. We wondered around the museum for a bit, ate lunch in the cafe, checked out the gift shop and then started the line to get into the theater.

I have not been to the children's museum gosh since probably 1975. They've remodeled the whole place and of course I had never been to the Omni and when they remodeled they really upgraded the theater. TOTALLY AWESOME if you've never been. All I can say is WOW.

After our movie we went to the Antique Mall up the road(both places are on Montgomery St). We spent probably close to 2 hours in there wondering around, there's just so much to see and we still didn't see the entire place. One of these days.

Lot's of stuff in there I wished I had the money and the room for. I love antiques. We left a little after 5 and I took Cindy home, hung out at her place for a while. Saw her new 1950's retro table and chairs set that she'd bought at the same antique mall a few weeks ago. Very nice and the real thing.

Storms were rolling in when I left but my drive home was not bad, some rain but nothing serious, I'd just missed it.

Robert had dinner fixed when I got home, my favorite, breakfast. Bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, tator tots it was good. Watched Extreme make over, Game of Thrones and then The killing. Found out that Bin Ladin is dead, has been for a few days but the news people just found out so no local news at all, Robert upset cause it messes with his routine. He likes to know what the weather is supposed to be like for the next day.

So now here I sit telling ya'll of my day, listening to the thunder and seeing the lightening, watching Amazing Race.

Ya'll have a wonderful week, enjoy the cool weather for the beginning of May, which is sooo unusual for Texas. God Bless and keep you
