Friday & Saturday, 29th & 30th of July 2011

Friday morning got up around 8:15 and got dressed to take my shirts to the cleaners. Niki was here when I got up so she went with. We went to the cleaners, she saw an old bf she really didn't want to see, lol. It was ok, he didn't speak to her and she didn't speak to him. Still rattled her a bit. I thought it a bit funny cause they are both adults now. After the cleaners we stopped off at a bakery I'd been wanting to check out and got a couple of things. We headed back to the house picked up my lap top, Niki got in her car, and we headed to Azle to Cozy Creations to see La Rue. I took my lap top so that I could down load all the pictures I've taken for her to her computer. Niki started working on the mums, La Rue worked on her flower delivery then she had a delivery to make in Lake Worth. I watched the shop, Niki went and got us some lunch. Had a sale while La Rue was gone. Hung out till around 2:45 and headed home to get a few things done before Robert got home. We didn't go camping obviously. I really thought we'd go out this weekend but that didn't happen. We stayed home and watched tv. Watched Burn Notice that we had recorded from Thursday since I worked so late. Then we watched Haven and I then started watching Torchwood and Robert was beat so he went to bed. He was seriously beat from a long week of back and forth to Dallas.

I stayed up a little bit longer then hit the sack myself.

Saturday we woke up together and just laid in bed for a little bit discussing what we wanted to do for the day. Robert got up and made me breakfast and after we ate we got dressed and headed to Weatherford. We went to Davis City Pharmacy to pick up one of my prescription refills, then to the cleaners to pick up my shirts. We then headed to Lowe's to do a little shopping. I found a gorgeous orchid that was on sale. They had old rug displays on sale for $2 which are the perfect size for the trailer, we bought 2, one for the entry door and one I can put in the kitchen area at the sink. I might go back and get a couple of others, one for outside the shower door and one for the door way to the garage. After Lowe's we headed east toward Willow Park to the Sonic, my cousin Christy is the drama teacher for Aledo and they were doing a fund raiser as car hops and I told her we'd stop by. I needed to talk to her also about some other ideas to help them raise their money for their trip to New York in April. When we got there around 11:15 she wasn't there, the lady that was said she was going to be there at 1:15 for her shift. Ahh well. We left and headed back to Hudson Oaks and went to Walmart to get some milk, eggs and a few other things for dinner Sunday. Headed home and unloaded all our purchases, got them scanned and put away. I did a couple of things around the house and played on FB and then around 1:45 I headed back to the Sonic in Willow Park and visited with Christy for a while. Left there and went across the street to Whataburger to get Robert a shake and me a malt. I could have gotten them at Sonic but Sonic's large is over $3 and is the same size as Whataburgers medium which is cheaper. You pay the same price for Sonic large 20 oz as a Whataburger larger 36 oz I believe. Robert got the large chocolate shake and I got a medium vanilla malt. Headed home and Robert was napping and I accidently woke him up when I closed the door. Felt bad. We hung out for about 45 minutes before we headed to Lake Worth to the Starplex movie theater to meet Cindy and see Cowboys & Aliens. REALLY a good movie, I was so surprised at the amount of senior citizens there where, seriously I think half the audience was over 65. It was a good western with a bit of a twist and not to far out there. Spielberg and Howard did it again. Very well made, great cast and good story. It was a little after 7 when we got out and Robert and I headed home for the evening, no big plans. Got home and watched Clash of the Titans and Prince of Persia actually I watched Prince - Robert went to bed. LOL. I ended up falling asleep with my lap top on my lap and woke up about an hour later and headed to bed myself.

So there was two of my 3 days off. Exciting huh. LOL Oh well, one of these days who knows. LOL. Ya'll enjoy the weekend, God Bless

Wednesday & Thursday, 27th & 28th of July 2011

I tried to do this Wednesday night and fell asleep typing and my hands on the key board I guess holding the space bar down so it was like a million miles long and I couldn't even get it to scroll back up. LOL

So what I was tell you all that Wednesday was Kali's second birthday. My grandbaby is now 2 and as adorable as ever. Mommy & Daddy got her a big girl bed, but dern that thing is so high I told him he'd have to get her a step ladder and guard rails. LOL. But it's a nice bed. They took her to Chuck E Cheese for her birthday and I called just as they had walked in the door so she was so excited they couldn't get her to say anything to me but Hi. LOL.

Wednesday at work wasn't to bad, we got very busy in the after noon like we have all week. We expected Mike Taylor(DM) to come out he was almost to us and ran into traffic so he had to turn around cause he needed to be back in FW by 5. So he made plans to come out Thursday. I had two of my new servers in the office doing all their computer work, gave a couple of PAR tests, meet with 3 of my trainers the others didn't show up because they don't know how to read, lol, Lynda was stuck on the grill and Peggy was working retail. I didn't get out of the store until after 6.

Thursday - same thing different day. LOL Work around 8, it's my long day. We knew Mike would be coming out, the Steritech lady(company inspector) was already in the store when I arrived to her inspection. We did awesome, scored a 92 which happened to be the highest in the district. Yeah us. Evie came in also, she's the Retail DM and she stayed, she never stays for more than an hour so I knew that if she was staying and with Mike coming it was going to be something big. They came out to close out the investigation on Mani and they didn't fire him but from what Mike(GM) said to me he can't afford to make any more mistakes, so I think he's on a final written warning. Who knows, I really think he'll work himself right out of a job. I was shift leader for last night, as usual on Thursdays, glorified baby sitter to make sure Mani doesn't do something stupid. We actually had a good night, busy, nothing really major happened. I stayed an hour later to do my DM report for the end of the month, so I wouldn't have to go in today. So I have another 3 day weekend, next weekend however will be totally different. Gotta work the whole weekend.

Monday & Tuesday, 25th & 26th of July 2011

Two fairly busy days. Got to work both days around 8, had orientation yesterday morning with a new cashier and a new server. Was gonna leave around 1 to head to the airport and pick up Steph, however we for a Monday were busy, it was getting busy when I got to work, stayed steady and then around 12:30 we got hit. I had to jump in and help, worked the window got my newbies out around 1:15 and finally got clocked out close to 1:30. I was trying for 1:00 cause I had to get gas, so fighting the traffic to get over to the Walmart on S Main then running in to load the walmart gift card, finding a pump since it was rally busy at the gas station, filling up the truck and then rushing home to change clothes and get Niki since she was at the house waiting on me. We got on the road just after 2, Steph's plane was to land at 2:55. We got to Lake Worth around 2:30 and Steph called they'd just landed. Ugh, luckily we didn't run into to much traffic especially at the N loop 820 & I-35 interchange. It wasn't until Rufe Snow that traffic slowed and got a bit congested. Then we ran into a second spot around Bedford Road. But we made it to the Airport at 3, Steph was waiting at the curb for us, pulled up and literally threw her suit case in the back and she jumped in and off we went. LOL

We headed back, luckily ahead of the getting off work traffic so it wasn't bad getting back to the Lake Worth area, having Stephanie tell us of her weekend in Cancun and her friend's husband's nutty mother, when they talk of Bridezilla's they need to make a show for future mom-in-lawzilla's. It was because of her that this event took place at an expensive resort that Steph paid more than she should have for and the woman had the nerve to tell my daughter that she couldn't celebrate her birthday on Saturday, which was her birthday. I asked Steph if she told her what she could do with that thought, she said yes, plus the husband(dad-in-law) set his wife straight on that one, especially since one of their own sons(they have 5) had a birthday the day they arrived and no one had even bothered to tell him happy birthday. Steph said she didn't finally chill out until Sunday after the wedding and she'd had a few drinks in her. She didn't get to swim with the dolphins cause her friend didn't book the excursion ahead of time. But she did get to enjoy a total deep tissue massage at the spa. All in all she did have a good time once she got to the resort because the resort forgot to send the car to pick her up, she sat at the airport for almost 2 hours checking with someone they finally got another company to drive her. I told her she needs to fill a complaint with the company, they tried to over charge her on her room, the hot tub in the room didn't work but the maintenance man did get it fixed, the tequilla dispenser in their room leaked. Just a few little things and they told her she needed to be at the airport Monday morning by 4 and the ticket counter to check in at didn't open till 5:30 and the man opening it wouldn't let her come to the counter until he had set up the zigzag line and she had to walk the whole thing before he'd deal with her, then he pretended not to speak english when she told him how stupid that whole thing was. The joys of travel. LOL Live and learn.

We decided to meet up with Amanda in Azle for a late lunch early dinner and the places we wanted to go were closed so we ended up at a place called Josephina's on 199, not a bad place, good chips and salsa, my taco's not bad a little to greasy but good. We left there took Amanda back to her car and headed to the house. Niki and Steph both went back to their apartment then Steph came back later to do her laundry for work the next day.

Robert is having to work in Dallas all week for a conference so he didn't get home until after 6. We both chilled out for the evening, watched Eureka, The Closer and Rizzoli & Isles. Robert actually went to bed around 9:30 he was beat. I also watched Warehouse 13, funny. Played some of FB and headed to bed around 1.

This morning same thing got to work around 8, it was raining in the distance but it never even got close to the ground, totally dissipated before reaching even the roof of a 3 story building. We really really really need rain bad, the only thing green around any where is the live oaks which stay green year round. It's really bad. At work, my new server came in at 9 and we did menu's and plate class, then at 12:30 we got slammed again. I jumped in the window and before I knew it it was almost 2 and I had to leave at 2 to head to Fort Worth for a dr appointment. My yearly woman check up. Yee haw. LOL. I do love my gyn, she's awesome. Gives me a big hug, told me I looked great, she could see that I look and feel better, lost weight, great calves, lol, her nurse asked what sport did I used to play, told her I used to be a dancer. That explains the calves, of course it has nothing to do with the fact I love to wear high heels when I can also, great exercise for calf muscles. She just an awesome dr. I told her about Niki's second miscarriage and about her having henoch schonlein purpura when she was 3 and how we believe that might be what is effecting her pregnancies. She wants to see her to help her out, I told her as soon as they get insurance on her through Randy's new job. I know she'll take care of my baby girl and do what ever is needed to help her.

Went to Albertson's after the dr, got Robert some fried chicken for dinner and enough he can take some with him tomorrow for lunch. Got home around 5:20 and chilled for the rest of the night. We watched Deadliest Catch and After the Catch, again just after 10 Robert headed to bed cause he didn't get home till like 7 or a little after. He leaves around 5:30 in the morning and of course having to drive home in the traffic from Dallas he really hates it. Plus he's board to tears over at the conference no real reason to be there except the powers that be think they need 3 IT guys there. He could have done everything that needed to be set up yesterday alone and in half the time but he's not in charge so whatcha gonna do, what the boss says right.

Now I'm watching America's Got Talent that I recorded earlier and updating you all to the past two days. LOL. Been trying to close out my Pampered Chef show, keep getting orders, up to $700 show now. Good for me, lots of free stuff coming my way. Thanks to those who are reading this and placed an order. You're awesome.

Saturday & Sunday, 23rd & 24th July 2011

Saturday - the twins turn 26 today. Stephanie is in Cancun and I believe having a great time. Robert & I went to Walmart to get a few things early this morning. I bought a Hallmark read to me book for Kalise for her birthday this coming Wednesday, she'll be 2. So I brought it home and recorder the story, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. After I recorded the story, got the book wrapped up and boxed, Amanda and I went to the post office. Amanda had come over to bring me back my camera which she had borrowed for an art project for school. We got the package mailed and then we went to pick up the pizza from pizza hut that Robert had ordered for our lunch. We headed home with the pizza and enjoyed it at home. Not long after we ate Amanda left and went home. Steph had called to talk to Amanda. Later I got ready for our night out. Robert and I went out dancing last night. We had a really nice time. Got home around 1 and we crashed.

Sunday - Got up around 9 this morning and called Miss Cindy to see if she wanted to see the 11:30 showing of Captain America. It was a go. Yeah. Offered to cook Robert some breakfast but he ended up cooking instead. He cooked me some bacon & tator tots. Ate that just before I left, Robert had a head ache so decided not to go. Met up with Cindy at the Lake Worth Starplex, got the tickets and our snacks, went in and sat down, visited a bit and the movie was fantastic. Any true Marvel fan knows you gotta stay all the way through the end, ya gotta wait till the end of the credits. Well worth it. The next movie in a year will be The Avengers. OHHH yeah. Stan Lee of course made his appearance in the movie. A very good movie, funny, entertaining, all the elements of a good movie. Great graphics/cinematography. After the movie we had some lunch at Mexican Inn then we went over Dot's for a little shopping. I headed on home afterward and got home just before 4. Robert and I had a quite evening at home. We watched the Lincoln Lawyer - surprisingly good movie. Then we watched Leverage and Falling Skies. Robert watched the news and went to bed I watched Covert Affairs from the other night and now I'm watching True Blood. The mess their in this season on TB.

So tomorrow it's back to work, I'll have orientation in the morning and then need to leave by 2 to get to the airport to pick Steph up. Looking forward to hearing all about her trip. Oh, Justin sent me a text yesterday with a picture of Kali's birthday from her Momma & Daddy, she got a big girl bed. As I was replying to his text he called it was so funny. I could hear her in the back ground having fun. He'd sent a second picture of her up on her bed and when he called she was jumping up and down on the bed he tried to get her to talk to me but she was so busy holding on to the head board jumping up and down and shaking her head back and forth. She was cranky cause it was her nap time. But it was cute. I told them I'd gotten her present sent off earlier. Wished we could see her for her birthday. I hate that we live 10 hours apart.

Had to go into work for a few hours today due to one of our new hires getting her into the system took all week. Long story, when I went to put her into the EMI it popped up that she's been an employee of CB before in 1997. The store that had her in their system had termed her as non-rehirable so I had to get our DM to contact HRIS to get them to over turn that standing. We finally got it fixed Thursday night and I had her and the other young lady come in to do their menu & plate presentation. We finished up at 1 and left so I could enjoy the rest of my weekend. LOL After I left work Niki met me at Antonio's for lunch, got some taco's, yum. Came home and chilled out for a bit. When Robert came home we talked about what we might do for the evening. I needed to run to a wine/cheese party a friend was giving in Aledo. Basically to give her the Pampered Chef catalog so she could place an order. I was back home by 7:45 and we watched tv the rest of the night, watched Haven and then Torchwood. Robert headed to bed around 10:45 and I tortured him for awhile. LOL, teasingly. ;-) I stayed up for a while and watched Burn Notice from last night and played some of my FB games.

So there ya have my Friday in a nut shell. LOL We thought of going to see Captain America but decided to go Sunday usually less crowded.

One day away from the weekend, thought I'd end up with another 3 day weekend but gotta work a few hours tomorrow. ugh. lol

Any way, got up this morning and packed Stephanie into the truck, Niki was here and she came with us to the airport. Steph left this morning for her weekend in Cancun. She called here around 9:45 and said she was in her room. We just hope that didn't cost a fortune. Said it was part of the all inclusive package. She's so excited, I pray she has a very wonderful time. Niki and I headed on back to Weatherford so I could get ready for work. Got there around 1 and hit the ground running for the most part. Mike was gonna have to leave around 2 for a dr appointment so had to reschedule his interview appointment for tomorrow. Did my part for the schedule for next week to make sure all was on the schedule. Had to shift lead today. Mani was the manager, we had a nice pop but once again, ace's in their places. Still not happening. Jennifer & Jesse on the grill tonight. Running 18 - 20 min tickets cause nobody seems to want to read more than one ticket at a time. Oh well one of these days we'll find a grill cook worth their salt. Lynda is on vacation this week, we'll have her back on Monday.

All in all not a bad day, just long. Really don't want to work tomorrow but gotta get things finished with my rising stars. Oh well, it's only 1/2 a day. LOL.

Tuesday & Wednesday, 19th & 20th of July 2011

Tuesday - well I tried to get more of my files caught up and that didn't work out to well, got like one folder done. LOL Brittany our newest hire came in and did all her computer work. I set up a couple of 2nd interviews for Mike and helped out in the window during lunch. A bit before 3 Angel from the Health Dept arrived for the Food Handlers class, got them all settled in with her and had to leave for my eye appointment at 3:30. Saw the doc and I'm a bit near sighted, keep wearing my readers when needed. Could get bifocals but she didn't see the need, eyes aren't that bad and I would probably end up fighting the glasses to get used to close & far. Shouldn't have to see her again for 2 years. All else was good with the peepers. Left there headed to Nana's to check out the sale and find something small for the blackout bag for Scrapkeno. Got home and Amanda was working on the trays for dinner. We got the food all prepped and loaded up the truck, Amanda went on ahead and I waited for Stephanie. Once she showed we headed on to Azle, hit Walmart to grab a couple of things needed for dinner and met Amanda at the senior center where we had scrapkeno. Had a great time visiting but a horrible night luck wise, came close several times, one away from winning but NOT ONCE the whole evening did I keno, it was probably the worst keno I've ever played in the 2 years we've been doing this. Got back home after 10:30 in time to kiss Robert good night and then put away all the food and things that I brought back home. Chilled out and watched a couple of my recorded shows and caught up on FB.

Wednesday - not at all what I had planned today. Mike was having a bad allergy day when I got to the store and I ended up getting nothing done in my office. I did get a couple of PAR tests done today and yesterday. But I spent the majority of my day either out in the dinning room but mostly in the window setting up trays, we got hit really hard today for our lunch rush, I can't remember the last time we did a 2300 lunch on a Wednesday. Unbelievable. Wonderful but wow busy. We need more and more days like that though. Hopefully that means we're finally getting some business back since all the road work, it's still gonna be the end of August before they open up the access road down in front of the store. After the lunch rush which really didn't die down until after 2, I ordered some lunch for myself, gave a PAR test, ate lunch all before 3:30 when I needed to do the Rising Star Meeting for Mike since he couldn't stop sneezing. Did the meeting between 3:30 and 4:30. Thought I had another PAR test to give but Mike hadn't given her her eval yet so that didn't work out. Got my trainers scheduled for the trainer meeting next week and clocked out just after 5 and headed home. Once I got home I changed clothes, unloaded and reloaded the dish washer, put some chicken breasts on to boil to make chicken salad and made myself dinner cause Robert ate his left over spaghetti. I had bacon and eggs in a basket. After the chicken was done I put it on ice to cool it off and we sat down to watch Unknown - good movie. Finished it up just after 9 so Robert could watch Rescue Me. I spent time working on choosing what I want from Pampered Chef and talking to the PC dealer. Will be closing my order out tomorrow night I hope. I'm very close to my goal.

Gotta take Stephanie to the airport in the morning, she's leaving for Cancun for the weekend. I pray her travels are safe and that she has a fantastic time.

It was definately a Monday, LOL. Had orientation this morning with 2 ladies, hired to be servers. One seasoned and the other has never served before. No biggie. However when I started putting them into the computer the seasoned one has been in our system before back in 97, so now I'm working on getting a DM override to get her in the system. Called HO, she was only in the system for 12 days and only worked like 10 hours and that was in orientation. They termed her as leaving for a better job and not rehirable. ARG. So tomorrow I have to talk to Mike who will then need to talk to Mike and he'll have to call HRIS and have them change the status and give us an over ride code. YEA.

I gave one PAR test to Alexa who took her Cash 4 before she started work at 2. I have 6 or 7 people scheduled tomorrow to take their tests and I have to leave no later than 3:15 to make my eye appointment that I missed 2 weeks ago.

I left at 3 today and Robert was already home when I got home. He made us a wonderful Chicken dinner sauteed in a mushroom wine sauce. We didn't do much tonight, just the same thing we always do, watch tv and play on our laptops.

Tomorrow I have Scrapkeno, love that, Hope I win this time. It's been a while since I've won.

What a wonderfully relaxing day. Slept late, Robert and I watched some tv and I did FB games as usual. LOL around 11:30 I got dressed and we drove down to Granbury and had lunch at Garcia's and then came home. LOL, nice drive down and back. I climbed into bed and took a wonderful nap when we got home and Robert napped in his recliner. We did a whole lot of nothing today. At 8 we watched Leverage and Falling Skies. Now I'm watching last weeks and this weeks episodes of True Blood.

Like I said a wonderfully relaxing day.

Got up this morning around 8:30 and started right back in on house work. First thing I did was get the laundry running again and once I got that going I sat down with the laptop for a few minutes to check FB. WHAT THE HECK HAVE THEY DONE WITH IT AGAIN? Seriously all my game apps on the left side have disappeared and I can't get them to show, they show for half a second when the page loads up and then disappears and the word more & a down arrow. is in the place and if you click on more it doesn't do anything. I'm very frustrated. So I close the computer and start in on the house work again. Robert vacuumed and did the dishes for me. I cleaned the counters, finished the hall bath, cleaned the laundry bath, the laundry room, swept, mopped the laundry room, bath & kitchen. Dusted the living room. Then prepped up some of the food for my Pampered Chef party. Was expecting several people to show up and ended up with only 3, Stephanie, Cindy & Kelley. I was a little disappointed. After all was done and the dealer left we loaded up and headed to Glen & La Rue's for her birthday party. Once again as usual excellent food and excellent company. Our friends who we haven't seen in like 4 months, Christy & Leon were there and it was so good to see them. We all just hung out, visiting and eating. LOL After most everyone left we played some dominoes for a while. Robert & I left around 11:30 and now here I sit updating you on my day and watching Haven, which I recorded yesterday

Thursday & Friday, 14th & 15th of July 2011

I have a very good reason why I didn't post last night. I got up yesterday at 6:30 AM worked a 12 hour day left work and rushed home to change clothes and pick up Stephanie and head to Lake Worth to the Starplex cinema where Niki, Randy & Amanda were waiting on us. We went to the "late night double feature picture show", lol we went to see Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows, 9:00 showing of part 1 with about a 30 minute break before the midnight showing of part 2. We had a blast, enjoyed the movies and spending time with my girls and of course Randy even though he didn't talk to me, lol. He was on the other side of Niki so that's probably why. LOL It was almost 3 AM before Steph and I got back to the house. So I was one tired momma and headed to bed almost as soon as we got home.

My day at work was busy getting things caught up, calling applicants to schedule them for interviews for today and also finishing up the schedule and getting everyones money who is scheduled for the food handlers class on Tuesday. Fred was the closing manager for Thursday night this week instead of Mani and we were dead. It was soooooo slow. I'm afraid it's due to the fact that we've been having so many problems on Thursday in the past with running out of food and all sorts of things that I think we've lost guests due to it. Plus the fact with all the construction no one knows how to get to us. Actually had a guest tell one of the servers last night that they'd almost given up and went some where else cause it took them 20 minutes to get to us.

There ya have it in sorta a backward review. LOL

I slept late this morning it was around 9:30 when I got up and needed to head into town to pay for the food handlers class. After I got that paid for I went to Albertson's to get some things for my pampered chef party tomorrow. Got home around noon, unloaded the groceries, put them away and took Robert to La Choza's. When we got there found out that they are only open from 4 to 9 during the summer with the heat. We went on into Azle to La Rue's flower shop and convinced her to go to lunch with us at El Paseo, Amanda came over to the shop to keep an eye on it while we went to lunch. After lunch we took Amanda some food and La Rue back to the shop. We went by the electric company to pay the bill and then came on home. Did a bit of house work before I needed to leave at 5 to meet Cindy at the Lake Worth Starplex to see ----- you guessed it Harry Potter. LOL, it's ok I got to see the bits that I missed last night due to snoozing periodically during the movie. LOL

Oh and to let you all know, Thursday was day 42 and the last day of my diet for 3 weeks and I meet my goal. Yeah me. I've lost 25 lbs.

Wow, what a day! Got to work at 8:30 and hit the ground running, was going to work on the files but Mike had a conference call at 9:30 and then another one at 10:30. The second one was short it was to inform all the managers that Al Dozier had resigned after 20 plus years with Cracker Barrel. So the big question for everyone is Why?, hmmm. I kept an eye on the floor while Mike was on his calls. Then I had a few people come in to take PAR tests through out the day. So I was in and out of my office. I had lunch around 1 and Lynda sat with me. Mike asked Kelley to be our 3rd shift leader and she said yes. I have to make sure tomorrow that the schedule is ready with changes before we post it tomorrow. Mike had the rising star meeting at 3:30 and reminded those who were signed up for the food handlers class that I need their money before 8 PM tomorrow night. I did get a chance to sit down with Mike around 11 and express to him my feelings on what happened Saturday with Mike Taylor. He was very understanding and I also explained to him the verbiage of his questions on asking me How was Thursday versus Did something happen on Thursday. He understood after I explained that with all the past Thursday not being so good that when you ask How was the day I think about the business, what was different about this Thursday versus all the past Thursdays. He was very understanding, of course he thinks I should talk to Mike and ask him what statement is it he believes I've embellished upon in the past. I don't think so. I personally don't care if I ever speak to the man again. I had a really great day today. I left work around 5 and headed home and just chilled the rest of the evening with my hubby.

Saturday to Tuesday, 9th - 12th of July 2011

I'd like to start by apologizing to everyone for not posting anything in the past 4 days.

Friday was just a regular day at work, busy as usual catching up as always on things, finishing up my week with my rising stars. Never ending work. LOL I was going to leave around 2 but Mike said we would be having a manager meeting at 3 so I stayed and then we didn't start until 3:25. We talked about the Guest Loyalty Monitor and how it's reflecting the decline of server attentiveness, worse than it's been in months. So all our servers who have been complaining about not getting tips, need to look at how much attention they are giving the guest. Mike says the managers need to start working with all the employees in a more positive manner. I reported on the number of employees that we have, how many we've hired, how many need to PAR test like now and how many need evals. Reminded the managers of the overdue evals and told then of the new ones that I'd put in their folders for the next 3 cycles. Mike made a commitment to me that they would all have their assigned evals done before the end of the fiscal year which is the last friday of the month. We'll see how that works. We wrapped up the meeting around 4 and I was headed home by 4:15. Took it easy for a bit after I got home and then got ready for date night. We went to Arlington to a place called Black Finn's and met up with a few friends for dinner. After dinner we all moved outside to the patio and had a nice visit with less noise. Nice evening even though the temps were still in the high 90's but there was a great breeze, so it fairly comfy. We got home around 11 and watched a little bit of tv and then we crashed. LOL

Saturday I had to work due to the peach fest. I was shift leader and ended up working the window almost from the time I walked in at 9 till after 2. I was only scheduled to work 9 to 2 and had plans to go home take a short nap and relax before our night out that we had plan. However that was changed, at 2:15 I asked Mike if he needed anything else from me and that's when he asked me if I could stay for a while because Mike Taylor our DM was coming out to talk to me, him, Sam(a girl) and Mani about something that happened on Thursday night. I said sure. I was confused. Mike had asked me on Friday and then again Saturday "How was Thursday"? Hearing that question I assumed that he wanted to know about the business, sales, etc. but I guess that wasn't what he was looking for. When I asked him what happened between Sam & Mani, what was it that he was talking about, he said that Sam had called home office because Mani had thrown a dish at her, that I told her to call home office, that I had said nothing would be done about it if it was left up to the manager, that Mani & Mike Taylor are like best friends. I was shocked, I immediately told him that I NEVER said any of that. I knew what he was talking about, that on Thursday I was so busy in the window and focused on the two jerks working as grill cooks and their smart ass attitudes that I only heard the dish break and heard Sam say "You could've put my eye out", I took a quick look and saw Mani standing at the drink line, there was a couple of other servers standing down there as well and Sam was inside the vestibule, after a minute or so she came over to the window to get a liner and I asked her what happened and she said Mani threw a dish at her, I advised her to put it in writing and to give it to Mike the next day, to talk to Mike. That was that, I didn't think anything more about it. So Mike Taylor was coming in to talk to us, I knew he'd be pissed and I knew he would be pissed at me because last fall he and I had gotten into it over employees and myself calling Employee Relations when we had had so many problems with Wayne or previous GM. He climbed all over me back then and ever since then I have not once nor have I once advised or told anyone to call home office, I tell them over and over and over again to put their problem in writing and to tell or give it to Mike. Sometimes I feel like a broken record I've said it so much since Mani came into our building. Mike(DM) came in like a minute till 3 and immediately asked to talk to me. We walked out to the 3rd dinning room and before we even sat down I told him that he'd been misinformed, that I have not in over 9 months told one employee to call home office after the discussion he and I had had in the fall. He barely let me finish before he jumped into the middle of me and about that time was when Mike(GM) joined us. He was angry and I knew it and he was accusatory toward me. He said you've told Mike twice now that nothing happened on Thursday and now your changing your story. I tried to explain that I wasn't changing my story that he'd asked how the day was not if anything had happened. You didn't think it was important enough or serious enough you shouldn't have told Mike. You couldn't have called your GM to tell him what happened. I literally sat there in a shocked daze, said I don't have his number, then he really got mad, you what? you mean to tell me you couldn't get his number, you as an ETC can't find his number? I said I guess I could get it off the EMI. He just nodded. Then started in on me again, saying that I've been quick to jump the gun before, that I've had a history of calling home office and embellishing on past statements. I seriously was shocked. He'd accused me back in the fall of embellishing on a statement that I had made about Wayne, what statement I have not a clue, how he thinks I embellished, again NOT A CLUE. I tried back then to find out what he was talking about so that I could defend myself and maybe prove to him that I don't lie, since in my mind embellish is a polite way of calling someone a liar. It upset me 9 months ago and it still upsets me, even more now since apparently he didn't hear what I had to say 9 months ago. He pretty much implied that someone has to be lying. Asked if Sam was credible and I said that she is. I apologized numerous times that I had forgotten the incident that I had put it out of my mind due to the fact that I was busy trying to get the food out of the window and had advised Sam to write a statement figuring that was that. I told him that I have way to much respect and a good repoire with Mike that I have and would never have an employee call home office especially after our thing 9 months ago. I said I learned my lesson and that wont ever happen again, then he changed his tune a bit and said we've never said employee's cant call home office. I said I understand that but I'm not telling them to call. He finally said they needed me to write a statement on what happened and I said ok. Got up from the table and headed to the office to write down what I heard and did on Thursday. While I was in the office Fred was in there and said I didn't know Mike was gonna be here today, why's he here, did you know he was coming? I told him I didn't know until about an hour ago when Mike asked me to stay because he wanted to talk to me, Sam & Mani. I started telling him what it was about and started crying. I was so upset. After I wrote my statement I took it out to the dinning room and handed it to Mike(GM) and asked if there was anything else they needed, the answer was no so I said bye, I walked toward the kitchen with Mike(GM) and told him I'd see him on Wednesday. I left just after 4, cried most the way home and spent my first hour at home crying. I was so very upset. I felt attacked on something that I really had no control over, especially when he kept pushing why hadn't I called Mike, like I could stop working in the window with it full of food and go in the office at 7 PM at night to call Mike at home who live an hour away. What was he gonna do??? Seriously.

We had plans to go out Saturday night and I seriously considered just curling up in a ball on my bed and cry all night but then decided it would be better for me to just go out and take my mind off the whole thing. We had a nice time hanging out with friends and just chillin. I was back home by 12:30. Thank heaven's I had the next day off.

Sunday - We did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. LOL Robert & I slept in, more me than him, lol. We hung out in the living room all day, just vegging, watched tv. Robert watched his morning news shows and I played on FB for awhile, chatted with Kelley B for about 30 mins, talked to Cindy W for a good hour - relating to her my horrible end of day at work on Saturday and crying all over again, then spent another 45 min or an hour on the phone with Thersia Evone talking about our diet that we're on and some of the things I've done with the recipes and food we can eat. Robert & I later watched Radio, great movie and then we watched a movie that I think was probably a Hallmark movie called the Reading Room with James Earl Jones, it was soooooo good. We'd been invited by Glen & La Rue to come over for dinner earlier in the day, so around 5:30 we figured we'd better get dressed, I was still in my jammies. At Glen & La Rue's we had a great visit and awesome food. La Rue has been wonderful in making sure that there is food that I can eat. She's awesome. We left around 9:45 to come home and do some laundry.

Monday - Got to work at 8:30 and asked Fred if I still had a job, sorta jokingly & sorta not, he just looked at me and said "yeah". I asked if anything else happened after I left Saturday with Mani. He said after his talk with Mike & Mike he was pretty quite the rest of the day. Had 2 servers get into it in the vestibule loud enough that all the guests in the dinning room could hear. So they got into trouble and one of them was a no call/no show Sunday so she pretty much doesn't have a job any more. Apparently they started just after Mike(DM) left. Not really sure what if anything did happen with Mani since he was the closing manager for Monday and Tuesday. We'll see. He probably got a write up in his file. I worked in my office all day working on the employee files that I've needed to catch up on for like over 2 years since Wayne wouldn't ever let me do my office work. We knew that Evie the retail DM was going to be doing an audit Tuesday and she'd be looking through some of the files, especially the cashiers and for our minor files. So I spent the whole day working on organizing and giving PAR tests. I got the minor files, the cashiers files and A & B done.

Tuesday - same as Monday, continued working on the files, I'm up to the F's. I also did some cleaning in the managers office and in my office, then went back to the files. I gave 4 PAR tests today and I left a little after 1, just needed to get out. Went to Ross to see if I could find Stephanie a pair of silver shoes for the wedding in Cancun next weekend. Found her a pair, found me a pair of Joey's OMG, way sexy, black faux snake skin pumps with 5 1/2 inch stiletto's. Found a really cute sign that we can hang in the garage of the trailer that says "Lost Bikers Saloon" hands off the bar maid. Got home after 3, changed out of my work clothes and tried on my new shoes, went to the kitchen to figure out dinner and had on my new shoes when Robert got home, he liked them. LOL

He changed in to his work clothes and went out side to do more work on the pot holes in our drive way, he's been filling them in with concrete. I defrosted 4 chicken breasts, weighed them out to 100 grams giving me 5 and cooked each one differently, I marinated 2 of them, one in a soy and rice wine sauce and the other in apple cider vinegar and lime juice. The other two I cajun blackened one and then chili lime season on the other, the last I created my own version of a pizza with what I can eat, I took my melba toast, a teaspoon of tomato sauce on each with oregano, thyme and basil topped with chicken breast and I broiled it in my toaster, I topped the chicken with just a little more oregano half way through cooking and I have to say it was really good.

So an update on the diet, Thursday is my last day. It will be 42 days. As of this morning I need to loose 2 lbs and I'll have made my goal to loosing 25 lbs. I'll take 3 weeks off but still be careful of what I eat just not take the HCG drops, then I'm going to do another 21 days to see if I can drop another 15 lbs or so. Keep me in your thoughts and prayers. This has been the best diet I've ever done that really really works.

Not the last day of the week for me, lol, still have to work tomorrow. Bummer. LOL

Got to work just before 9, not a lot going on. We had a rather slow day for the most part, of course I really didn't have to deal with it to much cause Fred & Mike were both there. I concentrated on getting evals written & assigned to the managers, got us all caught up to the 5th of August. Now if I could just get the managers to do them. Mike committed to me that they would get them all done before the end of the month. Finish out our fiscal year ahead of the game. I was going to leave around 3 but found out that we were having a manager meeting at 3, which didn't get started until 3:25 we wrapped up just after 4 and I believe I clocked out at 4:15 and headed home to get dressed for date night with my hubby. We went to a restaurant in Arlington called Black Finn, very good. Bar area really crowded when we left a little after 10.

Got home and after Robert watched Sean Hannity and handed me the remote I was checking to see if we recorded anything, nothing new in the list. Then I checked the channels, saw that Torchwood was on Starz, OMG, I forgot to set up the recorder, lucky me they play it over and over, so recording it now and watching, lol. About to go get in bed though cause I'm beat and I have to work tomorrow.

It was really nice to know that the only reason Mike Taylor came out to the store yesterday was to give me my pin and to eat lunch. LOL

Wednesday & Thursday, 6th & 7th of July 2011

Wednesday, not a very exciting day. LOL, day two of orientation. Had the 2 servers come in to do Menu's and plate presentation and the cashier/retail come in to do their computer courses. Then they all had the Rising Star meeting at 3:30. I left around 4:15 and headed home. So it really wasn't a wild day. LOL

Now today, Thursday, a little bit busy, had the cashier/retail come in at 9 to finish their computer stuff before their retail meeting at 10:30, Allen the new dish guy came in at 10:30 to get on the computers to do his courses. I had one or another person on the computers all day. LOL, While I worked on updating the schedule for next week. Making sure all those who have had evals or are getting evals in the next few days are scheduled for PAR tests next week and everyone is set for meetings. In between working on that and watching the window. We were expecting Mike Taylor our District Manager to come in for lunch. Of course we got slammed and he came in right in the middle of it all. After the rush died down Mike(DM) came to the back of the house, said hi to most everyone and then Mike(GM) went around announcing that he wanted to have an alley rally for everyone to come to the server alley for an alley rally including me. So we all gathered up and Mike T was there and we were waiting for everyone to gather around and the next thing I knew Mike B comes into the group with a cake that said congratulations Michelle, which surprised me. I figured that Mike T had come out to give me my 5 year pin for being an ETC but I wasn't expecting the cake and an announcement to everyone as well as a neat little letter of appreciation. The pin is gorgeous and everyone enjoyed the cake. After the presentation Mike was gone in a flash. LOL

I finally got to sit down around 3 and eat my lunch. Mani came back from vacation so he came over to join me around 3:15 or so. Mike B left just after 3 for the day. Surprisingly, we were rather slower this afternoon than we have been all week. It was sorta nice to have a slower Thursday. We did have a bit of a pop and Jesse(beard boy) & Oran were my grill cooks tonight. Mouthy boys. Oran filled in for Jennifer who called out. We finally slowed down around 7:15 and I was able to get some other work done and left promptly at 8 for the first time in like forever, since I've been working Thursdays. LOL

So I rushed home so that I could watch Burn Notice with my honey. Chilled out for the rest of the night.

There ya have it. I have to work this Friday and Saturday, Ugh. Short day on Friday, 9 - 2 on Saturday due to the Peach Festival. OHHHH BTW, we have some really awesome Texas Tech merchandise at CB. If you're a Tech fan come by and check it out.

Boy, having the holiday on a Monday really throws you off. Had orientation today with 5 newbies. A retail, cash, dish and 2 servers. We may have lost a grill cook yesterday. Fred pulled a Fred yesterday, they weren't staffed for a major holiday and they got very busy. So when Fred was asked to help with the 35 plus tickets that the 3 grill cooks were trying to get out he got aggravated and started yelling, upsetting my newest GC who had a knife in his hand because he was slicing something and turned and told Fred not to yell at him. Threatened to leave, Fred told him to leave and he left. I don't know what will happen. Lost one of my servers due to other issues which I can not relay here. I called home office to get information one when we can rehire her, found out who we need to talk to and I'll have Mike call him tomorrow. We did get busy today and so I didn't finish with my new hires until after 2:30 today. Had some things to finish up before I left and when I did I went to the post office to put somethings in the mail and got home around 4 and about 4:15 got a phone call from the eye dr to tell me I missed my appointment at 3:45. I completely forgot. So we rescheduled for a couple of weeks out. Hopefully I will not forget the next one. Bad me. I really couldn't believe I forgot and I drove right by the office on my way to the post office and it still didn't dawn on me. ARG. So Robert and I just hung out watching tv tonight. I'm still having a slight spasm in my lower back above my right hip and he'd come home early from work with a head ache due to his back hurting. So we didn't do much and it's Tuesday night so it was America's got talent and Deadliest Catch. Which we recorded, Robert watched the catch and now he's in bed and I'm watching AGT.

Sunday & Monday, 3rd & 4th of July 2011

The weekend of our countries independence. Had to work on Sunday, busy day. I went in at 9 and was to finish at 2 but didn't get out till almost 3. The morning started off slow and then we got busy. I ran the dinning room with 4 of my hostesses, 2 rising stars and Maria my PAR 4 trainer and Amanda who's a PAR 3. We did very good. Didn't have any major issues, got the guests in and the kitchen seemed to be doing well also, no one really had to wait for much. We had a few guests that had to wait for a bit but that was because they wouldn't take first available. Around 12:30 or so Stephanie came in and she was meeting my sister Alicia and her mom in law Connie. They stayed and had lunch, of course they stayed as long as they could thinking that I'd be off at 2 and could have joined them for a bit. Well that didn't happen. They left and were going to Braum's and meeting Amanda & Jason for ice cream. So after I got off work I joined them at Braum's after stopping at Walmart and filling up the truck with gas. When I got to Braum's Connie had gone home and Logan my niece was there. We decided that we'd all come back to my house to visit some more since Jason wasn't feeling well, he could lay down and the rest of us girls could have a nice visit. Robert was working on the trailer so we didn't bother him any except for when I was showing off the trailer to Alicia. Everyone stayed for a while, Alicia shared with me that Robin(our other sister) was given a bunch of pictures that their Dad had taken 30 years ago and none of us knew that he had. There were some good pictures in there of our brother John before he got sick, some after he got sick and a few that was taken a month before his death. It was nice to see some of these pictures. There were some that I had forgotten about of me alone and some with all 4 of us, as well as some with all of us and our parents. So it was decided that Alicia would come back Monday morning with all the pictures and we'd scan them and put them all on flash drives so everyone could have copies. All the girls were gonna come over as well. Around 6 everyone left, Alicia and Logan had dinner plans with her inlaws in town, Amanda took Jason home and Stephanie went to her home. Robert had come in by then and cleaned up and not long after they all left he ran to Walmart to get a few things including potatoes, onions and relish so that I could make potato salad to take to Mary Lou's for lunch on Monday. When he got home we watched Leverage and then Falling Skies, the news and then 101 ways to leave a game show. We were both in bed and gone by midnight.

Woke up early, but wasn't ready to get up and besides I'd set my alarm for 8. Robert had gotten up around 6:30 or so I think. I didn't get up until 8 and as soon as I got up I started pealing potatoes and got them on to cook. Made the salad and got it into the fridge so it'd be cold by 1. Amanda and shortly after her Alicia showed up just after 9. Stephanie had over slept. Alicia showed me all the pictures then we started to get her lap top hooked up to my scanner and it couldn't read it then Robert finally came in and I asked him to look he ended up getting his lap top hooked up to it cause Alicia's wouldn't read it for some reason. Once we got it hooked up and running(after 2 hours - lol) it moved rather quickly. Stephanie and Alicia got them all scanned and put on the memory sticks(3) so I'd have one, Robin would have one and Alicia could share her's with Mom. We finished up around 1:20 and Mary Lou called to find out when we'd be there and I told her we'd be leaving in the next 5 to 10 minutes.

Robert had worked on the trailer all morning and around 12:30 came in a got me to come look at it and wow, I told him he'd missed his calling, he did a fantastic job fixing the fiberglass and it really looks great. He came in and got cleaned up, I got my suit on and packed up a change of clothes and we all headed out. Alicia back to Connie & Stan's. Amanda to her home and Steph went home she wasn't feeling to hot. I think it was cause she stayed up WAY to late with her new BF. Robert and I got to Mary Lou's around 1:45 and both his sister's were there, Glenda, Johnny with Dena & Katelyn and Beverly, we ate lunch and then we all got in the pool except Robert he went in and went to sleep. It was nice we had a great visit and got some good sun. Robert and I left and came home just after 5. So here we sit both on our lap tops me playing my games and checking email and Robert reading his news stories and probably playing solitaire. We watched Furry Vengeance with Brendan Fraser. It really was funny. Now we're watching Season of the Witch.

It's 9:30 and I have to work the next 5 days. Ugh, oh well the price I pay for having today off. The only reason I'm having to work Saturday is because of the Peach Festival, yes it's that time of year again in Weatherford - the Parker County Peach Festival is Saturday and as usual it's extremely hot out. I've heard they have the best home made peach ice cream. But it's always so very hot but still lot's of people show up.

So that's it for tonight all, God Bless you all, I pray that you all had a wonderful 4th of July even though we didn't get to do any fireworks this year it really wasn't the same. It's been 5 years since we couldn't celebrate the way we should, we've always had a big to do here at our house with lot's of people, food and fireworks but not this year. Hopefully we'll have rain next year so that we can celebrate right.

Another wonderful day. Got up around 9, leisurely took my time getting ready to go to the movies. Left at 10 and headed to Lake Worth were I met up with Cindy & Ruby to see the new Transformers movie, OMGosh - it was totally awesome. I will happily see it again and again, always so much action and stuff going on you really do need to see it a couple of times. Two and a half hour movie and it was nonstop. Kept you going the entire time. Awesome.

After the movie we went to Chili's and got some lunch, then over to Camp Bowie to Royal 1 tatoo, Ruby is looking to get a tatoo so she booked an appointment for next Saturday. I left them and went to University Village to Origins and got some more make up and eye make up remover. Checked out Francesca's and Victoria's Secret to see if they had any thing new. Nothing caught my eye. LOL

Headed back around to Lake Worth to Best Buy to pick up my new Blu ray set of Lord of Rings. Headed home and realized I had forgotten to pick up my dry cleaning and it was 10 till 5, I called them and they close at 5 but the girl there was wonderfully nice and said she could stay a little bit, got there at around 5:20. Then home around 5:40, changed clothes and checked FB till Cindy showed up and the 3 of us, me, Cindy & Robert headed on over to Glen & La Rue's for steaks. We had a nice evening, after dinner sat out side and Glen & Cindy played some sort of a toss game with 2 balls attached at each end of a string and tossing it across to a 3 tiered stand for points. Cindy won. LOL you go girl. By now it was around 9:30 and we headed inside and pulled out the domino's and played till 11:30 and it was time to come home. So here we are. We had a really nice evening, great company, great food great fun. Love all you guys.

Ah what a wonderful day off. LOL Got up around 8 and Robert and I went into town to do some shopping. First to the dry cleaners before 9, then on to Walmart from there to Home Depot, on over to the post office and finally Albertson's for some apples and back home again. Spent the rest of the day relaxing, playing FB, cleaning out email. Then at 6:45 Robert and I headed to the movie house to see Bad Teacher, not a bad movie, funny. After the movie we went to Best Buy in Weatherford to pick up a computer Robert had ordered online and we got home just before 10, watched the news, killed some time until 11 and now I'm watching The Wolfman. Boy I'm beat. LOL. not really. But it was a nice relaxing day. Gotta get up early and meet Cindy in Lake Worth to see the new Transformers movie. Can't wait been waiting all week. Excited to see it.
