Monday, 28th of February 2011

The last day of the month. February is done. Started my day off heading to La Rue's with Stephanie. I kept an eye on the shop, did a little more arranging and rearranging. While Rue and Steph took several arrangements to a funeral at Mount Olivet.

We left the shop at 2 so I could go home and change clothes for work. Got to work at 3 and caught up on a few things and got ready for my 4:00 orientation. Had two show up the third will be there tomorrow cause no one did what I had asked them to do and call all the new hires to tell them we'd changed the days from Wed - Fri to Mon - Wed.

Orientation went well for first day, will do more tomorrow. Really not a lot to talk about for today. Just one of those days.

Till tomorrow evening, God Bless

Sunday, 27th of February 2011

Well this turned out to be a nice day, a bit windy, but the storm never came in. Robert & I went to Dallas to the market center for the RV show. Looked around to get an idea of what we might want to get, figured out what we each liked. We have to have a toy hauler for the bike, especially if we start going to more rally's. I want a slide out in the dinning/kitchen area just for the room, so I don't feel to boxed in.

On our way back home we called Christy & Leon just to see what they were up to and decided to meet them at a place calls BJ's by Northeast Mall. It was a nice visit and really good food as well as good company.

We got home just after 7 and watched Minute to Win it, awesome, the kids version, family of 5 kids and they almost got the million. But it was so good, kids worked so well together. If you watched it you probably enjoyed it as much as we did.

Now I'm catching up on Amazing Race, love the show, I even tried out a couple of years ago, want to try again, gonna get my neck fixed first and get the weight off again.

So begins another week of work tomorrow. Ya'll have a great one, till next time, God Bless and keep you

Saturday, 26th of February 2011

This is the last Saturday of the month, can you believe we're almost into March, almost into the 3rd month of the year, which means it's only 10 months till Christmas. LOL

Ssssssoooooooooooooooooooooo, what did Shelle do today on her day off? I took my shirts to the cleaners which my husband was supposed to drop off on Friday so that I could have been picking them up, but nooooooo, he was being a good samaritan helping a person who had broke down in the middle of a busy intersection, so when he was done he just did habit and turned right to head home. LOL. No biggy, he's a good guy. Good thing I still have a shirt to wear on Monday. Headed on over to Wally world to get a couple of things that Robert forgot the day before. Stopped at Michael's to get a couple more things that I didn't buy the night before and then headed north to Azle to Cozy Creations to do a little work.

Spent 4 hours moving and stocking the front of the store, making it look full and a bit more organized. I believe every day she gets more and more business. She was working on 2 new sprays for funerals, a man came in to get some lilly's for his girl, made up a nice arrangement. Had a mom and daughter come in to look at flower books for her wedding in April. Keep your fingers crossed, the mom had come in a few days ago and brought the daughter back yesterday, lets pray they decide to use La Rue. I need to print Niki's wedding pics of all the flowers so Rue can show them if needed.

Came home around 3:30 and took it easy for a bit till we left at 5 to head to Burleson for my brother in laws 40th surprise birthday party. We had a great time, Reisha ordered a ton of food from Uncle Julio's, it was way good. Hung out visited, played a game of scattagories. I'll post up some pics of the evening on Face Book, look for them especially the 6 month baby with a mustache. To cute. lol

We got home just after 9:30 watched the news, then we watched Date Night. OMG sooo funny, especially the cars being connected scene, I was laughing as hard as I did that night at the movies with Cindy when we saw Green Hornet.

My toe was still hurting terribly all day yesterday, still very swollen and feverish. But before bed I was able to stand on it. Getting better, yeah. Still calling dr monday morning.

Wishing you all a great Sunday, enjoy the rest of the weekend, God Bless & Good night.

Friday, 25th of February 2011

Yeah, it's Friday, the end of the week, the beginning of the weekend.

Thought I could finish up in Arlington in about 4 hours, but not, about 6 1/2 hours. But we got it done. Wont have to work in Arlington after all next week. But will still be busy at my store. Got orientation starting Monday.

Took a good amount of time since it was Friday to get home today. Got home changed clothes and headed up to the high school to see Katina - the girl Niki has been choreographing routines for dance contest. Niki wanted me to see the routine when Katina performed. Left there just after 8 and went to Michaels to find a frame for my big butterfly picture. Found one. LOL

Came on home just after 9 and Robert was holding Spartacus for me.

That's really about it. It was a very uneventful day.

Weather is trying to turn cold again and gas prices are going up, so where are all those who opposed the inflation of the prices last year now they're going up again.

Wished I know who to complain to.

Have a tremendously, fantastic weekend. Till tomorrow, God Bless

Thursday, 24th of February 2011

Well, what a day off today. LOL

Yesterday after getting home from work my left big toe hurt after I took off my shoes, thinking that I just needed to pop the joint, it was stiff and just ached. When I got up this morning it really hurt, like it was broken, has hurt alllllll day just getting worse, with my toe swelling and then about half my foot on the inside. I really can't figure it out and now I'm sitting here afraid that it might be gout, I have all the symptoms except it said that even a sheet touching it makes it hurt worse, in my case I keep rubbing it with my right foot cause it actually eases some of the throbbing. I took some ibuprophen and thinking of taking something stronger. LOL

Started the day off heading to Cozy Creations with Thersia Evone following me with her truck load of goodies to help stock the store. I took a few things myself. I moved a few things around visually with the store, need to go back tomorrow, didn't want to leave today, to finish arranging things. La Rue and I left Thersia and Rue's friend Karen at the shop and headed to Fort Worth to find a wholesale basket store, which must be one of the best kept secrets in the city. We finally found it and OMG, it was hard not to spend a small fortune(more than what we spent). I kid you not, any and every kind of basket you could imagine, metal buckets, porcelains & hammered tins. We filled the back of the mini van and spent just under 200 dollars. Left there and grabbed a couple of burgers on the run and headed back to the Lake Worth area to check on La Rue's computer at Best Buy then on to Hobby Lobby for a few things there including checking the 80% off red tag isle. The girl checking us out however did not know the meaning of sense of urgency, I swear I don't think I've ever seen some one that young move that slow and with such detachment from their job, possibly even disdain.

We rushed on back to the shop in Azle to unload and I could head home to change for work for my meeting. Got to the store around 4, had my meeting with Server Trainers about everyone being on the same page for the new hires about to be trained in the next few weeks. They all need to re-review our training packets, make sure they are training the absolutes, guiding principles, seat to eat and the servers circle. I reminded them of the seat to eat targets that they would need to remember and review these with the rising stars. I did start the meeting off by thanking them for all they do and for being the best, in my opinion, servers in our district, especially after working at 242 this week and seeing how when there isn't a training group of managers and our DM aren't in the building they don't do the absolutes and they definately are not doing seat to eat by the book or at all for that matter. I was missing 2 of the trainers knowing where one was and she was excused. The other, not a clue. Once we were done I fixed next weeks schedule, called next weeks new hires for orientation and made sure Lisa would be able to do Wed/Thurs for me. I really was not relishing the idea of driving an hour to Arlington, doing orientation from 9 to 2 & driving back to Weatherford to conduct another orientation from 4 to 9 or 10 at night. Doing that for 3 days, as much as I would love that kind of OT it was still gonna make for 3 long days. So yeah Lisa for agreeing to do orientation for me again next week. I'll still take Thursday off for sure to make my neurology appointment at 1.

Once I got home around 6 Robert & I went to Azle and had dinner. BTW toe still killing me and once I got my foot propped up and IBuprophen it has helped ease, but not much, definitely going to take something with narcotic in it before I sleep. And yes it is a prescription, lol.

So I'm gonna call it a night, play a bit on my FB games and head to bed. Ya'll have a great day tomorrow and God Bless & keep you,

love,
me

Wednesday, 23rd February 2011

Well, pretty much a repeat of yesterday. LOL

Up early, traffice - not nearly as bad - but still there. Put Lorena on the computer to do her courses before her conference call tomorrow. Talked with Chuck about plans to finish out the week and working there next week to do orientation. Alls well.

We finally finished the cleaning and weeding(you know weeding through and out all the old papers etc).

More traffic heading home, worse today. LOL

Stopped in Lake Worth to get a little gas, a little was right, 5 gallons for 15 bucks, gas is up to 3.08, figured since the news this morning said that the yesterdays stocks dropped a bunch and of course gas futures which to me has always been a joke, went up to 95 a barrel, due to the problems with Kadafi.

After getting the gas, stopped at Mexican Inn, got some taco's, rice & beans with some of their chips & salsa. My honey wasn't feeling very good tonight so he didn't cook any dinner, he said he'd started planning what he was going to cook around 2 today but a bit after 3 his shoulders and neck tightened up and headache so he didn't cook.

So another night chillin and watching tv. Criminal minds tonight.

That's about it, got the day off tomorrow, sorta, gonna spend the morning helping Rue, Thersia Evone is gonna bring some things over in the morning and we'll be taking it to her store. Then around 11 we'll be headin to Fort Worth to see if we can find a wholesale basket shop.

Then I have to be at work at 4 for a trainer meeting with my server trainers. Shouldn't be there but maybe an hour and a half at the most. I hope no more than 2 hours. LOL, it's like a black hole it can suck you in. LOL

So that's it for the night, God Bless

Tuesday, 22nd of February 2011

Another busy day, got to the store in Arlington about 5 after 9, traffic a bear this AM. We dove right in to finishing our spring cleaning from yesterday, filled up 2 more trash cans today. Helped with the busy lunch and went back to the office. We have just a little more to do then we can concentrate on other training. Found out today, HO wants me to do a orientation class with Lorena, so I was going to have her come out to Weatherford next week, then one of her managers went and hired someone, lol, so now I have to go back to Arlington next week to do her classes with her. No really biggie since I get paid well for it but it's the mile I'm having to put on my truck.

So we didn't wrap up and leave today till 5:30 and again traffic a bear. LOL

Chatted with La Rue most the way home. I'm gonna hang with her on Thursday at the store for a bit then we'll see if we can find the wholesale basket store in FW before we each have appts later in the day.

I guess this one will be short and sweet, not alot to talk about, Robert had made breakfast burritos for supper, always good. Watched NCIS, Biggest Looser and Southland.

Light rain showers scattered around the area, went through a couple on my way home, we need real rain.

God Bless

Monday, 21st of February 2011

Started my day off by heading to La Rue's shop and delivering my wedding dress to her for one of the displays I set up yesterday. Looks great. I was really upset when I pulled it out of the closet this AM the zipper wasn't zipped, when I tried to zip it found that it was broken, how???? I really don't know unless the girls at some point in time in past years might have tried to try it on. It's a nylon zipper so now I have to find some place that can fix it and not ruin it. In the mean time it's on display at Cozy Creations.

After dropping off the dress I headed into the morning traffic heading to Arlington, not bad this AM got there with plenty of time to spare. Got started right away with Lorena going through stuff in the office, what a mess. We filled a lg trash can today and still have a lot to do. I was impressed I believe she'll do very good. You know you really can't always trust your first impression of people. She's very intelligent, she has had 4 children in 6 years and broke my heart her last baby had the same problem that Niki's baby last year had, were the skull didn't form around the brain. In Niki's case(Niki is my youngest daughter btw) she was around 5 months and the baby died in uterus. Lorena was over six months and the baby was still alive so she carried full term, with everyone hoping that the dr was wrong. They weren't, the baby only lived a few days, she said it was the hardest thing because they had to move her over to a hospice and she started having continuous seizures just before she died. My heart really goes out to her. She's really excited about being the ETC because she would like to move into management but with a 6, 5 & 18 month old she can't right now. Plus she's never flown or been any where other than Tx & Ok, so flying to Tennessee and spending a week there she's looking forward to.

She does have a lot of work ahead of her though.

Clocked out and headed west around 5:20 fought a bit of traffic went straight to Mary Lou's(my mother in law). She'd called last night wanting me to look at some pictures of my family and date them, she mentioned school pictures of the kids, which confused me because I NEVER sent out school pics of the kids with out names, dates & years on them. I've inherited enough pictures I learned ALONG time ago to date all my pics. Anyway went over and she had a small stack and we started going through them and sure enough all the school pics did have dates on them, the ones that didn't have dates were pictures that she had taken of the kids in 87 when we came home for a visit. Didn't stay to long, tired and wanted to get home and out of my work clothes. But she's getting all her pics in order so she can power scrapbook. LOL, and she'll do it too. Goodness for a 76 year old woman she has more energy than most people in their teens or young 20's. LOL, definitely a roll model for senior citizens to stay active.

When I got home Robert & I watched Chuck(love Chuck), recorded Funniest video's from yesterday and our other fav Castle.

So that's it for this day. Another trip to Arlington tomorrow and Wednesday, may definitely have to go back Friday. Thursday was supposed to see Dr. Teal about my surgery but they cancelled so I have to see him next Thursday. ARGGG

Oh, MAJOR PRAYER REQUEST NEEDED, my long time(45 years)friends son needs all your prayers, for the past year and a half has suffered from what they thought were migraine headaches, he's I believe 10 or 11 now. She took him to a neurologist today and they said his optic nerves are enlarged due to pressure on his brain, which they aren't sure why he has pressure on his brain so on thursday they will be doing all sorts of other tests, MRI's etc to see what they can see. Chris is very nervous about having to be put under for these tests and I know Mary is beside herself sick over this. They are in Ohio with out any family up there, all her family is down here in Texas and California. Please pray for this to be something easily fixed and that it doesn't cause any damage to his sight or any other damage. And please pray for Mary & Darryl that they have peace in this. She stresses so bad over things. I've always called her a big chicken and worry wort. And Mary if you are reading this honey, know we love you and wished we could be there with you at this time.

If you are on a prayer chain please add this family Christopher Ball to your list.

God Bless you all and keep you safe, until tomorrow

Sunday, 20th of February 2011

What a nice day today was, slept in a bit. We probably should have gone to church this morning but we didn't. We've been really bad and hadn't been to church in quite awhile.

Went to the movies with Cindy, went to see I am number 4, good movie, definitely left it open for a sequel. We both enjoyed it. It was exciting and had good mystery to it. After the movie I headed to Azle to the flower shop to help La Rue get the front of the shop in order, make it look like a store. I'm really glad that I know what I'm doing when it comes to visual merchandising, I guess working in retail in one way or another for over 20 years helps. Of course being creative helps too. LOL

Left there feeling like we'd gotten alot accomplished and it looked so good, it'll look even better once we get more retail in there.

Got home to hubby making breakfast for supper, we do that, not alot but we do like breakfast for supper. While we ate dinner we watched Extreme Make over home addition. It was an awesome episode, if you didn't see it you missed it. It was for an Army guy that was wounded during the Fort Hood shooting. Wonderful story. Definite tissue moments.

So not alot to talk about today. Pretty uneventful, oh I do have to say, I thought I'd stop at Hobby Lobby on my way home after the movie and found out they aren't open on Sundays to allow their employees a day off for family and worship - as stated on the sign at the door. How awesome is that? Most of you may already know this bit of info but I don't go very often cause it's not really in my neck of the woods.

Well that's about it for today, I'll be working in Arlington this week, will let ya'll know how things go with the new ETC, I still think it's a mistake who they picked, we'll see.

I hope all of you who have the day off tomorrow due to the holiday, Presidents Day, enjoy the day off, I know my hubby will be enjoying it.

Till tomorrow, God Bless you all and keep you safe.

Saturday, 19th of February 2011

What a gorgeous day it was today. Weather perfect until around 5 and that's when the dark clouds rolled in. But still nice just humid now. LOL

Started my day off takin my hubby to Azle to La Rue's floral shop(called Sandy's Cozy Creation) so that he could finish his work on her computer, needed to add a bit more memory. Now that thing is zooming. LOL So while we were there we brought in a bunch of glass shelving so that I can work on her retail area tomorrow(Sunday). Helped Rue finish up a funeral spray she was working on, very nice I believe they'll be very happy with it. I told Robert when we left the house we wouldn't stay long, he said he didn't want to be stuck in Shelly stuff today. While we were there Glen showed up(Rue's hubby) so he and Robert took a look at the delivery van, there's been extra lights on inside and some flashing, turned out to be a loose fuse. So we were there around 2 hours. Needed to head home so that I could get ready to meet Kelley for lunch and a special treat.

So when we got home just to keep Robert on the happy side, I vacuumed, it needed it. LOL but had told him on the drive home I would cause he was going to do the kitchen. Got the vacuuming done, changed clothes and headed to Arlington.

Meet up with Kelley in Arlington at 2, well I was there at 2 she was late, lol. That's a switch I'm usually the one running late. We meet at Daired's Salon & Spa, leaving my truck there we went up the road for lunch before our 4:00 appointment at Daired's. We decided to eat at P. F. Chang's if you've never eaten there, OMG, it's sooo very good and the service is phenomenal. I only wished my servers were that attentive and personal. We decided to do the 2 for 40 dinner they offer, Kelley has never eaten there and I had eaten once at the one in downtown Fort Worth. Anyway the 2 for 40 you both get a choice of soup, egg drop or hot and sour, she got the egg drop and I love hot & sour. Then you get an appetizer and we chose the crab rangoon, after that they bring the main course. I chose the Kung Pao Chicken with brown rice and Kelley had the Orange Chicken with white rice. Then that is followed up with your choice of a mini dessert in a glass, she had the chocolate moose and I had the lemon tart. They serve this almost European style which if you haven't been to Europe or eaten at a European style restaurant it's not rushed they let you enjoy and savor each course easily taking 2 hours to eat. Now we did have to wait about 15 minutes to get in(which was strange for after 2 close to 3 in the afternoon. If we had gotten there at 2 we probably could have enjoyed the leisural dinning they offer, unfortunately our 4:00 appointment at Daired's Kelley said we needed to be there by 3:45. So our server speed up our courses, which we were still able to enjoy completely and had left overs to take home. Anyway P. F. Changs is very very good, great atmosphere, great service and fantastic food for medium price.

Arrived back at Daired's by 3:46, checked in at the front desk and we escorted back to a waiting area where an adorable little lady escorts you to the lady's changing room, you pick a locker to place your things in and inside the locker is a plush robe and slippers(not plush - plastic but comfortable). After we changed we headed back into the waiting area and that cut little lady comes back and takes you to another waiting area and brought us water, all of this is very tranquil. While we waited we talked about our upcoming trip in September to the Grand Canyon for Kelley & Kim's (her husband - yes it's a girls name but he's not - lol) wedding renewal ceremony.

Then our specialists came out and called us, taking us to the rooms were we enjoyed complete pampering. Kelley decided to have the body wrap and she booked me for the full body massage which was ohhhh soooo nice, a full hour of getting all the tension rubbed out of me. Believe me if I could have had some one else drive me home would have topped it off perfectly. LOL

So I want to thank my wonderful friend Kelley for treating me to a fantastic afternoon, she wouldn't let me pay for lunch and our time at Daired's she had gift certificates that needed to be used so she shared. Thanks Kelley for a wonderful afternoon.

Now for my 40 minute drive back home. LOL like I said if I could have had some one else drive me. Oh well, needed to go by Walmart before I headed home anyway. Needed to get a bag of ice and chips for a party we were invited to tonight. Got home, chilled out for a bit and got dressed to head to Sherry & Ronny's out in Justin.

Finally found Sherry & Ronny's, THERE ARE NO STREET SIGNS ON 156 North of 114. LOL
Small gathering of friends, we hadn't seen each other since November at Sherry's birthday party. Leon & Christy(hi Christy) were there and Christy was in full form, hope you are feeling ok tomorrow. LOL. We had a nice time, some people played poker, other's watched, lol, mostly we all just caught up on what we've all been up too. Just visiting, some drinking by some, alot more by others, love a funny drunk. We left around midnight, I was beat, getting up early(after not sleeping to well), then having a great massage and a couple of glass of wine at Sherry's I just mellowed to the point that when we got in the truck and headed home I don't think it took me 2 minutes to fall asleep. LOL

When we got home I headed straight to the bed room, changed clothes, took off my make up, put on my cpap and crashed, which is why I'm blogging early Sunday morning. LOL

I had a great day Saturday, the weather is spring like right now but as we in Texas all know, Mother Nature teases us, lets everything start to warm up and bud then hits us with one more cold spell. But we'll enjoy it while we have it. 70 degree days are always welcome.

So till tonight, ya'll have a great day, enjoy the weather even though it's cloudy today, God Bless

Friday, 18th February 2011

I am pleasantly surprised to find that more people are reading my blog than I thought. Thanks to you all for your supporting words. So to continue on

Finishing up the week today with another fairly busy day. Got my birthday posters updated and posted, I made poster calendars a couple of years ago to celebrate our employees birthdays & anniversaries with Cracker Barrel each month, those with birthdays each get a card that the whole store signs with best wishes. Finished the server evals and got them assigned to the managers along with checking on the overdue evals.

Took my stack of applications and called them to set up interviews for next week. About half way through had to stop to keep an eye on the dinning room, our DM came into the store today for a bit to check on some things(a report on possible drugs in the building) not sure what will come of it, no proof, no proof of who the found bag may have belonged to. Plus it was about 6 weeks ago that it was found. He didn't stay long, got a good report of other things, my servers were doing what they should have been while he was there, Yeah. I was worried because we had some problems at the beginning of lunch getting the tickets out in under 10 mins. Managers in wrong places. After the lunch rush I finished my calls. Got the backgrounds ran and all in order for return calls of the ones I left messages for. Managed to get it all done and leave at 3:30. Headed to Jerry's Chevrolet to test drive the Traverse, drove the LT first, it was ok not a bad ride, drove the LTZ much better ride. Liked it, a bit roomier than the Dodge Journey, each had similar but different packages. Still not sure what I want to do.

So when I got home Robert was smoking pork chops, yum. Steamed some broccoli to go with it, very good. We watched a bit of tv and then headed to the theater to see The Eagle, I enjoyed it, I thought it was a pretty good movie, well done, good story & story line. Some of the scenes reminded me of Iceland, beautiful country. When we got home we put on Sparticus and just finished watching that. Now gonna finish the last 20 minutes of CSI NY that we missed when we left for the movies. LOL

Have I mentioned how nice the weather has been the past few days, if I haven't I am now. The weather has been so very nice, mid February but already feels like spring, stores are already putting out spring plants and flowers. Ready to start my garden. LOL

Well I'll wrap up todays blog with a big Thanks again to those of you reading. I hope my life isn't to terribly boring for you. Wait till tomorrows post when I get to tell you about my massage. I'll describe all the pampering I'm gonna get. LOL

Ya'll have a nice night, God Bless and keep you

Thursday, 17th of February 2010

What a day! Absolutely gorgeous weather. It'll be nice for awhile and then as always close to Easter we'll have that last freeze. LOL

Saw Rita again today, got me all fixed up, that women is a miracle worker. Magic hands.
Got to work at 11 and jumped right in, getting more people signed up for direct deposit, worked on the server evals and assigned them to managers, waited for the checks to arrive to attach info to them, they arrived WAY late, good thing direct deposit is coming soon, usually have them by noon, to pass out between 2 & 4, they didn't arrive until 3:25, alot of unhappy employees once again.

Also went through apps to line up for interviews, that will be my job tomorrow calling all these people and setting up interview times.

Then making sure my office is ready for Lisa next week.

Robert got home from Lubbock this afternoon, not long before I got home from work, we had left over enchilada's from Tuesday night, ohh so good. Watched CSI and the Mentalist. Woo hoo big night. Robert still isn't feeling to well, he got the cold I had and then of course driving to Lubbock yesterday and back today. He's a bit beat. Hopefully we can get rid of the cold soon and we wont be passing it back and forth, having the doors open and airing out the house should help.

So I'll work a few hours tomorrow and hopefully get out early enough to head over to Jerry's chevy to test drive the traverse. Thought we'd go and see a movie tomorrow night also. We'll see. lol

Ye know something, sometimes I feel really lame posting these, I feel like what a boring life I lead. It doesn't seem boring when I'm so busy but then I sit down to write these blogs and I go "what did I do today?"

Maybe I should blog about other stuff, like my history, I just don't know. I don't ever get any kind of comments although I do have people tell me they are reading what I write.

Well I'll wrap this up for now and ponder on what to do.

Till next time, God Bless and keep you

Wednesday, 16th of February 2011

So all day today it felt like a Thursday, lol, seriously.

Got to get my truck back this morning, yeah. I missed being up high. Got the truck looks pretty good, Robert will look it over when he gets home tomorrow, he's in Lubbock for work. Drove out this morning. After picking up the truck went to see Miss Rita and get my neck stretched, usually feels good but not so good this time, neck has been tender and sore all day.

Got to the store just a bit before 11 and hit the door running. Got a couple more people signed up for the dd, gave a PAR test, got the schedule for next week finished, weeded through aps to line up for interviews.

Early on in the day Mike came into my office to tell me that Chuck called and wanted to talk to me, Chuck is the GM for the store in Arlington that I was training Seat to Eat at since Sept. They've chosen a new ETC and he called to see if he could borrow me, lol. I called him back and he wants me to come over next week to work with Loreana, help her organize the ETC office and show her the ropes so to speak. Talked it over with Mike, he's ok with cause we lined it up with Lisa to fill in for me again while I'm over in Arlington. I was very flattered because when I spoke with Chuck he told me there wasn't anyone else he could think of that was more qualified to do the job.

Left work at 6 and headed home to the dogs. Home alone, so nice and quite. Got a call from my friend Cindy and we spent oh something like 3 hours on the phone and our laptops discussing our trip in Sept to the Grand Canyon for another of our friends renewal of wedding vows and second honeymoon. Getting excited about it. We looked at all the different places to stay.

Just finished watching the season premier of Survivor and Crimial Minds - can we say Kathy Bates - Misery. LOL

So I guess that's about all I have to talk about tonight, all caught up again. LOL

Enjoy the rest of your week, God Bless and keep you

Tuesday, the 15th of February, 2011

The day after Valentine's, hmmm. LOL
got up early went to work and got busy catchin up on somethings. Signed more people up for direct deposit. I know I did alot, but for the life of me I can't think what all I did do. LOL

I know I was busy all day. At 3:45 Shayla showed up and we got started on her seat to eat training, wrapped it up at 5 till 6 and headed home, ASAP.

Got home, changed clothes, grabbed the camp table, chairs, food, wine, utensils, plates & cups and gifts and headed to La Rues for my once a month Keno group. I call it Scrapkeno cause we play for scrapbooking supplies. Lots of fun. lol

La Rue offered up her home for the event this time, I was hosting but with kids moving out and all the hours I've been working including working the day of the event, there was no time to clean, cook etc. God Bless my wonderful husband, he prepared the main dish for my event. He fixed us up with Chicken Enchilada's.

Glen, La Rue's husband I think knew what he was in for. lol, we get rather loud, we had a group of 13 this time, which is good, we've done anything from 6 to 20, so mid range. Funny thing was, Becky knew Glen cause she knows his sister, then Lori showed up and that was really funny cause when I introduced La Rue, Sarah(her daughter) and Glen she all but screamed I know him, he's my air conditioning man. LOL. It was funny.

We had a fun time as always, and of course I won the first two hands of round one then in round two won and stole a gift and by the time it was over I walked out with only the 2 toppers from the original two that I won. Not cool. lol that's ok though Steph came away with 2 things, one of which was the one I stole, it was the hot commodity for the night.

Didn't get home till 11 stayed helped clean up and visited with La Rue and Glen discussing more of her dilemma with her new business. I know it will all work out. God love her.

So until the next posting. God be with you all and bless you

Sunday & Monday, the 13th & 14th of February

Wow, what a weekend, Sunday got up and headed to work for a couple of hours to enroll more employees into the direct deposit, left and went back home, changed clothes and met up with a friend, Carla, for lunch at Logan's in Weatherford. Enjoyed it.

Got home and took it easy for a bit, being I still didn't feel great cause of my cold. Took a little nap and then had to get up and go back to work to see if I could catch up with the employees from the night shift for direct deposit, left after an hour. Headed home to change clothes and then to Azle to the floral shop to help La Rue out.

More orders and getting things ready for today.

Got a bit before 8 and headed to the shop, loaded up the truck and started driving. LOL delivered flowers all day, from 8:30 in the morning till just after 7. Made for a long day, ran out of flowers and had to go to the market to get more. Busy, busy, busy. I know La Rue probably collapsed when she got home tonight.

Lot's of beautiful arrangements being delivered and picked up today, She really did a fantastic job.

So if you live in or around the Azle area and you want quality work and you like flowers go see Miss La Rue at Sandy's Cozy Creations.

So the last 2 days the weather has been phenomenal, Sunday up to 76 degrees about the same today. It was a beautiful weekend, I guess the muskrat up north might be right, spring will be here soon. LOL

Till tomorrow, God Bless you all

Saturday, 12th of February 2011

So let me tell ya how I started my day, Robert and I went up to Roger Williams and I test drove a Dodge Journey, awesome ride. Really liked it, still gonna check out a couple of others but leanin hard toward the Journey.

Afterward, I headed out to Azle to help Miss La Rue with her floral shop, had a good time. Sold a whole lot of flowers for Valentine, even picked up the bouquet my husband had ordered for me. A picture will be posted on my FB.

Glen, La Rue, Christy, Leon, Robert and I all went to Terra last night for dinner, very good if you've never been, Mediterranean cuisine. Down off 7th street a block down from the 7th street movie tavern. After dinner we went to see True Grit. That was a good movie, all actors involved did a very good job in the remake of said movie.

That was the crux of my day off. Nice time hanging with my friends.
So until next time God Bless, have a wonderful weekend.

Friday, 11 February 2011

What a day, Woke up feeling worse than yesterday, I believe it's moved into a cold, UGH. Runny, stuffy nose, cough and scratchy throat. Got worse as the day went on.

Did a good bit of training, managed to get almost 1/2 the employees signed up for direct deposit or pay card. Left in the afternoon to go see Rita, got my neck stretched, lol, took a nap while the machine stretched me out.

Got back to work and started all over again. Didn't leave until almost 6:30 - finishing the week up with almost 52 hours. Long, long, LONG week.

Headed home, changed clothes, put my hubby in the rental jeep(lol) and we headed up to Antonio's to meet with Thersia Evonne for dinner. Good food - Good company

Got home just a little before 9 and been chillin on the couch since.

Oh we did stop by Roger Williams to check out the Journey's, nice, think I'm gonna go test drive one tomorrow. Will let you all know how it rides. Driving a Jeep liberty right now, not bad, handles well, drives easy, accelerates nicely. all in all not bad, just a bit small on the inside for my tastes.

Till tomorrow, ya'll have a great day, God Bless

Thursday, 10th of February 2011

Another long day of training and more training. Lots of fires to put out also, no pay checks, had to tell people never fun.

We got crazy busy a couple of times, had a visit from the DM. All in all not a bad day, just need to get everyone on the same page.

I really don't have alot to tell tonight, although I think I'm trying to come down with something. I hope not, I really don't want to get get, don't have the time. To much going on with work. Had an itchy left nostril last night, needed to sneeze felt like I'd inhaled a fiber up my nose, woke this morning with it feeling dry and like I was getting a sore throat right back in the back where the nose canal meets the back of the throat, it's gradually gotten worse through the day.

Picked up a bowl of chicken soup from On the Boarder in hopes that the chicken soup would help, immediately took a double dose of zinc as soon as I walked in the door at home. Now on the couch wrapped up & suckin on a cough drop, blowing my nose. LOL, luckily I don't feel to bad at all just the ugh of the beginning of a cold. I know I caught it from one of my co-workers who went through training he coughed on me. LOL

So one more day till this week ends for me, I have another long day tomorrow. Wont be done training unfortunately, got a couple of servers left to do, got all of dish to do and a couple of the hostesses.

We'll get there. Eventually.

Till tomorrow, God's Blessings on you all

Tuesday & Wednesday the 8th & 9th of February 2011

Ok, I was so wiped out when I got home last night I all but collapsed. It was a long 14 hours at work yesterday. So really not a lot to talk to you about except to say I was SO very busy, training the servers and then we got busy business wise, by the time I got home my feet hurt so bad, Robert rubbed them for me for a bit, wished it had been longer. LOL

Had to get up early this AM, was supposed to go in at 6:30 but we woke up to blowing ice & snow and a sheet of ice on the roads. Called in, told them I would probably be in later, after the sun came up. Honey woke me up around 8, cause I went back to bed, lol, to tell me that we were going to Enterprise to get me a car since the Durango is in the shop for a week to 10 days. So we got me a Jeep Liberty and I headed to work, thought I was going to be there really late again today but got lucky and left around 6:30. Still was a long day between keeping up with tables, got a good pop in the AM before lunch and then trying to train, again the feet hurt but I'm chillin on the couch.

I get to start all over again tomorrow at 6:30 AM till I'm done. Already at 30 hours this week with 2 days left to work.

Training is going fairly well, I'm glad to say. Got a few pills to go through tomorrow, lets hope they're as receptive as everyone else has been.

Till tomorrow, ya'll have a great day. God Bless and keep you all till then.

Monday, 7th of February 2011

So Monday has come and gone, lol. Got to see Rita this morning, did some adjusting and then traction. Felt inches taller. LOL

Got to work right at noon, a bit busy. Found out that my managers decided to jump the gun on some training with some of the servers. I was VERY upset and aggravated at them. We scheduled these people and there is a system in place. We'll see what happens. Did our first training "the right way" at 3, went well.

Finished up at 6, just as they were getting busy, of course, I had to leave to head to the gym, did Zumba again, awesome. Love it.

Got home just after 8 and Robert and I took the Durango up to the Body Shop and dropped it off.

When we got back I had a bit of dinner and we watched Harry's Law, it's really a good show, of course they have shoes which I enjoy seeing. LOL After the show, watched a bit of news and then headed to the shower, all sweaty after my work out. So now I'm all toasty, just finished watching Castle - another one of my favs and now I'm gonna head to bed.

Boy my life is really pretty boring when I write it all down like this. Sorry, not alot to report.
Hope you all have a great week, expecting bad weather around here again tomorrow night. I gotta get to bed, got a 14 hour work day for the next two days.

God Bless all

Super Bowl Sunday, who cares? Not me that's for sure and having to live all week with all the hipe since it was here in the local area of where I live. And to the idiots who are speculating whether or not to have Super Bowl here ever again - WE CAN'T CONTROL THE WEATHER. I do feel sorry for all those business owners in down town Fort Worth that lost alot of business due to the weather.

Didn't do much today, went to Albertson's to meet brother in law Greg to pick up Girl Scout cookies, did a bit of grocery shopping, took some cell pics of floral arrangements and texted them to LaRue with prices so she could see what some of the competition looks like.

Hung out at the house with hubby till I had to get ready for work, went in to do a meeting with the 3 that didn't get it done a week and a half ago. They were all there, 2 not to happy about it but knew if they weren't there they'd not be working for 4 weeks, till after we are done with all the training and then certified.

So I missed the beginning of the whole debacle with Christina Aguilera, although got lucky enough to see it again on the news, and again, and again. Did enjoy the commercials, especially the coke commercials and loved the Darth Vader VW commercial, totally cute.
I also enjoyed the half time show, I'm a fan of Black Eyed Peas.

That was my big day. LOL
Till next time God Bless and keep you.

Saturday, 5th of February 2011

Well guys finally showed up this morning a bit after 9, took them a bit over 4 hours to change out the pump. Yea, got a shower, flushed all the toilets with out having to hand fill the tank with water. Headed out to pick up my friend LaRue and her daughter Sarah. We went to Hobby Lobby did some shoppin, looked for things for her new business, she's re-opening a floral shop in Azel. Found alot of nice things especially in the 60% off area. I found some great pictures of antique french ladies shoes(slippers as they were called once upon a time) for my craft room.

If you have been reading all my postings, I think some where I've expressed my love for shoes, heals, when I see a heal my heart races, I LOVE A STILETTO, no wedges, some flats are cute, but give me a 4 or 5 in spiked heal I'm in heaven. The young man checking me out said you must like heals(there were only 4 pictures) but I said you just don't know, there was a man behind me in line around my age who was smiling at this exchange, I told the cashier that I've always been in competition with Imelda Marcos, he said he didn't know who that was, I looked at the man behind me, as I laughed saying he was to young, seriously the man behind me didn't even know who she was. I said she was a dictator in the Philippines who owned over 600 pairs of shoes. LOL oh well.

So we headed on back to Azle, picked up some pizza after dropping off all our finds at the shop and our guys(Robert & Glen) were waiting on us at LaRue's house. Watched the rest of Robin Hood - Russell Crow version, ate pizza and then we played dominos until about 10:30 and headed home. Wooo whoo, big night. LOL

Ya'll have a great Sunday, enjoy the game if you are into that. God Bless

Friday, 4th of February 2011

So the snow was here this morning then the sun came out this afternoon and the roads started to melt some, yeah.

Early morning, had to be up in time to get on a conference call at 7, then hung around watching the snow for a while, got ready for work and Robert drove me in. The minute I walked in the door it was chaos. Two managers, both cooking, 5 servers, a cashier hosting, another cashier, a retail and the retail manager and we were busy. But we pulled it out. Just did guest services the whole time keeping the dining room cleaned up after the large groups. Slowed down by 2 as usual.

Robert came and picked me up and we were home by 4 and here we stayed. Still no water, 3 days now. At 4:30 Robert called the well co that was supposed to come out to change the water pump, the one about 150 feet down below the earth cause they told him yesterday they'd be back this afternoon, where they? HECK no, they're response oh no they wont be there till tomorrow. MY RESPONSE - THANKS FOR THE PHONE CALL.

We watched The Karate Kid - the new one with Jaden Smith, it was really good and that little man is so like his daddy and adorable to boot.

So tomorrow I think well go out and test drive some new cars to see what I'm gonna like, once we get the truck fixed from my accident with the ice. ARG, 2 payments left and truck in great shape, under 100K and what do I do hit the black ice.

Till tomorrow, God Bless

Thursday, 3rd of February 2011

Well another day in the cold. lol, headed to work here in Weatherford. Busy day. PAR tested 2 of my servers, worked on the schedule for next week to get all the servers ready for their 1 on 1 training. Not busy business wise, just busy catching up. Stayed to help out the evening shift, didn't want Mike to have to stay, bless his heart he hadn't been home since Tuesday. So I told him to go, I'd stay as shift leader. Things are shaping up for S2E, just behind on the prep cooks since all their hands on was supposed to be done this week, but with the weather most everyone has not been able to make it in to work. Not much to tell about anything other than I lost control of my truck on the way home and did a bit of damage to the left side and rear bumber/tail light.

Oh update on the water well, it is the pump that is 150 ft below the surface, it will have to be replaced. So tomorrow that will be taken care of.

Got a conference call at 7 AM, not sure if I'm even going to work now since I need to call the insurance office and see what I need to do.

So goodnight to all, God Bless and keep you.

Wednesday, 2 February 2011

Groundhog day. The groundhog says spring will be here early. LOL we'll see. Right now not so sure. But enjoying the snow and surprisingly the cold, as long as I don't have to get out in it.

Got up super early this morning, so that I could be at the store there on 360 by 6:30, when I got there everything was dark. News is saying it was rolling black outs, so the power was out about 30 min, came on just in time to start my training with the trainee's I had today. Got them wrapped up a bit after 8:30 so that they could head back to the hotel and finish up there.

Left Arlington for the long nerve wracking drive home on the icy roads. Took almost 2 hours to get home, roads clear in some places not so good in others and it's still cold, cold, cold.

Now their calling for more snow tomorrow afternoon.

I caught up on the shows I recorded last night since I wasn't home and played on my FB, watched the dogs play in the snow. Kept hoping Robert would figure out why we don't have any water. Hopefully tomorrow we'll have water, we may have to call a plummer or drill outfit. We have our own well, Robert thinks it may be the pipes down under the pump.

So again not alot to report about. LOL

Till tomorrow, God Bless you all and stay warm. Global Warming my foot. LOL

Tuesday, 1st of February 2011

Woke up to major ice and snow storm, house bound for the day. Wind chill made it zero degrees outside today. Very, Very cold. So really didn't do alot, caught up on recorded tv, finished organizing my bathroom, then packed for my trip and over night stay in Arlington. lol

Which is why this didn't get posted last night. Took me an hour and 1/2 to get to the hotel. Roads not to bad on the major areas. Couldn't get on the net last night, hotel(Marriot - if you can believe it)charges 9.99 if you hook up to the net in your room. With as much as you have to pay for a hotel room there especially super bowl week you'd think it would be free. Seriously.

So this is the post for the first day of February. Not alot to talk about. LOL
