Can I just say I'm not getting older, I'm getting better. What a fabulous weekend I've had. I love my husband, he'd the bestest husband in the Universe. He'd not only a great husband, he's my best friend and in my opinion a wonderful lover. So let me tell you what I've done this weekend.
Friday.....
Slept in a bit, lol, till 8:30. Got up and lazed around for a bit, did some stuff on FB and made my plans for the day. My daddy called me to wish me happy birthday and to see if I was working, he and my step mom, Debbie were coming out to Weatherford and wanted to take me to lunch. So I adjusted my schedule, cause I needed to go to Walmart, the dry cleaners and Albertson's. They wanted to meet around 12:30 at Yesterday's Sandwich shop down off the square. Got dressed and headed into Weatherford. Did my shopping at Walmart, swung into the cleaners and picked up the cleaning and headed to Yesterday's. I didn't know they moved to a larger building a block down. I went in and Dad & Debbie weren't there, so I called and said "Where are you?" "We're at Yesterday's" "Where at?" "In the middle of the room" "No you aren't I'm standing in the middle of the room and you aren't here"
So I'm looking around, "Dad, where are ya'll, where did you park" "We're at Yesterday's right on North Main" thinking that they were at a totally different location. Then I start to think "hmmm, I start looking around, they have an optical illusion, I looked to the back of the building and realized that it wasn't a mirror, as I was about to leave, I tell Dad "you're on the other end of the building, I bet it goes all the way through" Sure enough I walk to the back which is the middle of the building and there was a whole other room with smaller tables and chairs like for an old ice cream parlor. LOL. After talking to Dad & Debbie they thought it was a mirror or kitchen, not realizing it goes all the way through also. As I sat there I realized it used to be one of the antique shops in town, wonder what they did with all the antiques???
We had a nice lunch and visit, great chicken salad and tortilla soup(yes even on a hot day) LOL. After lunch and we went our separate ways I headed to Albertson's to grab a couple of things, mostly my apples then home. Once I got home we unloaded the truck and put away the groceries. Had an argument with my hubby. Which I felt bad about. Hung out around the house the rest of the afternoon till we needed to get ready for our evening out with friends in Arlington. We left the house close to 7 and when we got past the 20/30 split we were driving in the rain. For those of you who may not know(and how you wouldn't surprises me) but we in the state of Texas had not had rain in like 2 months, we are in definite drought status. So to see the rain was such a blessing. I told Robert why can't it be pouring like this over at the house. We stayed in the rain just after the Matlock exit in Benbrook and then just as we got past the bridge at Bryant-Irving the wind was blowing so hard we hit a dust storm from all the construction. Literally wet to dry in the blink of an eye.
We met our friends at Dave & Buster's, never been. Not a bad place, pretty good food, we sat and visited for a while, ate some dinner and then decided to hit the game room. Rene's favorite game is the Deal or No Deal game so that's were we went. She played a round and did ok, then I played a round and again just ok, the third person played, ok, then Jay, Rene's boyfriend played and did pretty good. Then once it got back around to me, I played all the way to the end & I had the winning case with the $500 in it, the machine starts spitting out the tickets(2 pts each) and it keeps going and going, lol, 250 tickets. One of the other guys plays next and he and I both pick the same number for the case and he wins another $500. Jay is freaking out now, "No way". lol I play again and once again $500 and this machine is spitting out these tickets and Jay is freaking out, "We play this game all the time and I've never seen anyone win this much, ever, much less 3 times" LOL, he pulls a dollar out of his pocket and hands it to me and says on your way home buy a lotto ticket, SERIOUSLY, I'll split it with you if you win. LOL What's funny is I told them all I don't gamble cause I never win, I'm such a loser when it comes to gambling that even when we were on our cruise last year Robert and I had gone to the casino and I wanted to play black jack and I was the only player at the table and I was loosing. Of course we all had a lot of fun and laughs, we played a few other games to burn off the money on the game card and Rene cashed in all the tickets, I gave her all of mine, since it was her money we'd been playing with any way and I didn't need any of the prizes they had to offer. LOL
We headed on home and when we got there we'd gotten some rain, Robert checked the gauge and we had gotten about 1/4 of an inch of course the rain cooled things down a lot, it was nice. We hit the sack just after midnight and crashed for the night.
Saturday....
Woke up around 8 and it was still dark out, found out it was still raining and over cast, yeah. Great birthday present. Robert heads to the living room and there sits one of our daughters, he'd walked out in his underwear, thank heaven's he wasn't naked, he comes back to the bedroom and says one of the girls is here, good thing I had something on. LOL, I getting dressed and when I got to the living room there sits Niki, not the daughter I expected. LOL
She'd come over to talk to daddy about her car, she has a mustang and the same thing that happened with Steph's car happened to her's. The seal for the gas tank and the tube that you put the gas into the tank had broken and wanted to know what part she needed to get from the dealership. We hung out for a bit and visited and that's when Robert spilt the beans on what he had planned for me for the day. He had told me the day before to keep my afternoon open for Saturday, we'd need to leave by noon and he'd have me home in time to get ready for our evening out. He tells me we're going to Zero Gravity in Dallas and Glen & La Rue are going with us cause Glen will probably be my activity buddy. I hate to call them rides but for lack of a better word that's what I'll call them. LOL
So at noon we head to Azle to pick up Glen & La Rue and head to Dallas. We get to Zero Gravity and wow, they have 5 different rides and they are wild. Robert told me I was getting the whole package, all 5 rides, a t-shirt and a video of all of it. LOL
Glen and I started off with The Blastoff - their discription is a giant slingshot that shoots you 150 feet into the air, zero to 70 in 1.2 seconds. All I can say is WOW, it was the first one we rode and it's probably a good thing it was the scariest of all. As you sling shot into the air there's a point when the bungee's are slack you feel like you are going to travel forever then it snaps you back and starts to spin and up you go again. Get's the adrenaline really flowing. LOL
Our second trip was to bungee jump, thinking it would be the easiest of all, NOT. LOL I walk out to the edge and the guy counts three, two, one jump, "hmmm, no" three two one jump, no again. Glen says go off backwards, so I ask the guy, can I? He says sure just step over the rope as you turn. So I turned around and again three two one jump and at about 5 lol I sat backwards and off I went. Our minds are not wired to let us fall forward, my heart was pounding so hard as I stood out there facing forward looking down at Robert & La Rue 7 stories below. Turning around backward much easier. Glen on the other hand - literal swan dive off the platform, just like he was diving off a diving board. Definate style.
Next we went to the skycoaster, we kept calling it the superman ride. You fly like superman. The crane takes you up 110 feet in the air and I pulled the ripcord and flying off we went, WOW it was totally awesome, just like being on a giant swing. Ever lay on a swing when you were a kid it's pretty much the same but on a way larger scale. lol.
When we got there we were told that the skyscrapper was not working so we could ride something twice however they got it running. Yeah, the one I really wanted to ride more than any of the others. But our next ride was Nothing But Net. This one takes you up 16 stories up and you sit back into your sling and are lowered below the platform and then the operator pulls the pin and you drop. Amazing, landing into a net, just like a trapeze artist.
Lastly we rode the skyscrapper, yee haw, that was fantastic, 165 feet up into the air. I called it a ferris wheel on steroids. Absolutely the best. After we were done I went to pick out my t-shirt and wait for them to burn my disc and the girls tells me they have bad news, the first ride we went on the video didn't record or something it just wasn't there. So we'd have to ride it again if we wanted. LOL. Well ok, so we rode the slingshot again to get it on record. They thought they had it fixed, apparently it showed it was recording but nothing was there. So we still didn't get a recording of that ride. They said they'd go ahead and put the two singles of Glen from the Bungee & the Nothing but Net on there to make up for it.
Once we got home and played the disc it still didn't have everything there, they didn't have any thing from the superman ride so I called them, the girl who was there earlier was gone, the girl I talked to said "oh just bring it back and we'll fix it" I told her "we live an hour away, I can't just bring it back". so we worked it out that I'd send it back to them and they'll fix it all. So sometime this week I'll send it over, I'll also call and talk to the manager.
We got home around 4:30 and had about an hour to get ready for the night. We had dinner reservations at Terra's (a mediterranean grill) at 6:30. Cindy, Thersia, Glen & La Rue, Kelley & Kim, Penny & Raul and Robert & I had a wonderful evening and dinner. The food there is excellent as was the service. We left around 8:30 and headed to the Hulen area to Main Event to play. I wanted to play laser tag. Glen & I played laser tag and rode their little 2 minute topsy turvy ride. We played some games, Robert drove cars and airplanes lol, we just hung out and had a great time. Everyone was tired from a long day though and Cindy, Thersia, Robert and I were the last to leave and my baby and I were home by 11. His back had been bothering him all day and by the evening it wasn't great so getting home at 11 was good, he got into bed not long after we got home and got some good sleep.
Robert got up around 8 this morning and I woke up but wasn't ready to get up so I went back to sleep till about 9:30. Got up and had a lazy morning. Robert was mowing the yard since we have been watering but he hasn't mowed in probably a month cause it's been so dry there hasn't been much growth, not like if we'd been getting rain.
Around 11 Robert cleaned the kitchen and got the meat ready and the smoker to smoke it. After that he ran to Walmart. I vacuumed and cleaned the kitchen table off and started working on the fruit & veggie trays. We had invited a bunch of people over to celebrate MY BIRTHDAY. Everyone was to come over around 4. Niki & Randy were the first to show up and she started helping me finish up my trays. Stephanie came in next and while I was getting dressed Glen and La Rue showed up. Finishing up some things in the kitchen and Cindy came in, then Thersia, Scotty & Dakota arrived. Amanda and Jason were next and we lined up to fix our plates. As we started eating Dad & Debbie finally arrived and they brought all the fixins for homemade strawberry ice cream. We ate dinner, I showed off my video from yesterday and we showed off the trailer to those who hadn't seen it. The girls got creative with the candles on my cake and we had cake, ice cream and I got to open my cards and gifts.
All in all I had a terrificly, fantasticly, wonderfully, exciting birthday. Thanks to all for everything. I've enjoyed my weekend, oh it will continue tomorrow night with Amanda taking me to see The Help.
Good Night all, God Bless and have a wonderful week.
